Heard a whisper that the Burke brothers were playing for Donald. Saw a photo of James in the local paper training with them.

Was also interested in knowing what Funckes connection to Donald was as didn't think he was a local. Anyone know?

Both Funcke's did all their high school at Donald, the family farm is closer to minyip than Donald. Ross and Leigh both played their junior football for minyip and then both had stints down in the big league. Both married Donald girls so i would say that yes they are locals.

Who did you hear this whisper off? Are you just goin on what you read in the paper. James Burke has signed with his brother Leigh at South Bendigo. Their Elder brother Brad will play with Donald. After leaving on a sour note in 2004.

Brad Burke playing for Donald this year. No star on the footy field though. James is heading over to Bendigo to play with his younger brother Leigh.

Brad Burke should have been happy just to play one game in the seniors side of that year. A better player took his position so therefore no argument. Do you agree Bend_It?

As for the Whyche boys, was speaking to a few of them in Bendigo on Saturday night and it look's like the local boys are going to have a decent crack this year. From what I seen they were quite underdone in the fitness stakes last year, as stated previously on here along with losing half their Grand Final side from the previous year. Be good to see them back up where we are all used to seeing them.

Sorry the whisper I heard was incorrect - it is Brad that is playing for Donald not James (which is a shame as we would be bloody handy).

Let's hope that Donald don't do a Wyche and end up struggling this year.

No I don't. Just cannot stand it when the Boort people get on here pumping up each other's tyres. I'd say they won't be playing in September unless they recruit some players to cover their BIG losses! But you always want the bottom teams making the other teams earn their win, not a walk in the park like Whyche and Saints last year.

Hey goat roo ter. I am not from Boort. Just cos I hate Rhodes doens't mean I am from Boort. I ahte what he did cos he squealed like a fat little pig. I watched him gf day. He was pooping himself. Should have had a set of rear view mirrors attached to his forehaead, would have saved him hurting his neck by turning around all day to see what was coming.

Boort were the ones who went about the tribunal the wrong way. They have no one else to blame themselves for losing the flag. The whole episode certainly worked in Donalds favour as Boort were totally distracted come GF day. It was just good fortune that Rhodes was able to take the option of one week.

As an outsider, I was disgraced at the reports of what Rhodes said at the tribunal. Tell me this, put yourself in his shoes, and what would you do....
