Don't think Boort would be much from only beating Wyche, they would need to improve on their efforts in there first three rounds to be even considered a contender this year! Especially if they are relying on Robert Rutley to kick their goals. C'mon he is fat and slow. They also didn't have anyone to help C Rutley in the middle when we played them, not sure if anyone has stood up since.

I take it you haven't heard of Reid or Bartram? or boorts full forward Perryman?
Boort are 2-1..you can only beat who you line up against!

They are both good goer's and thats it -- Boort are short one star midfielder of having a very very good chance of winning the premiership this year! (Perryman is not the same as he used to be which is a pity. Great to watch when he was fit!)

The current list would need to improve heaps! I think the team has a few too many passengers that are relying on the better players to perform and win your games. Is that a fair call?

When you play teams like Wedderburn and Birchip, these passengers will be exploited and will no doubt cost you the game.

after travelling to boort to see the demons play there on the weekend i have made a few observations.

1. craig rutley is still a gun
2. poodge is still poodge it took four wyche blokes to wrestle him to the ground
3. wyche more than matched boort in the clearances in the first half but couldnt hit targets, lacked a key forward, and missed some gettable goals (most would agree they should have been equal to or infront at half time)
4. wyche lacked fitness
5. boort are still a good side but lack the depth required to win the flag (the twos score is a good indication of boorts depth)

Hero, dont worry about the back six start getting it right in the middle. the whisper is in the North Central that Atkinson was no good but the scores i seen on channel 10 saturday night suggest he is missed. Who is playing in the middle for the saints these days? Bring Back Atkinson

1. 20+ Each week...look again buddy

Vs Charlton
1. Holmes was injured rather early...
2. Hando Injured and went up forward where he basically stood in the goal square
3. Hyndman late withdrawal (with Ruckman Walsh) Their replacements were a 16 year old who's played 2 games of Senior football, and a 5ft 6 or so 17 year old whos played more 2's than 1's... Thats no replacement for Walsh and Hyndman, who are both big units, especially up against the likes of Thompson, Hill, O'Sullivan..etc etc
4. 6 goals in it at 3 quarter time


Vs Birchip
1. Ciurleo didn't play
2. Drum (who often drops to the half back line) didn't play.
3. Birchip simply played very well, no excuses here

Vs Wedderburn
1. Hando didn't play,
2. Ciurleo and Drum went down early and couldn't play their part (Ciurleo spent most his time off the field)
3. Scores tied 3 quarter time, went down by 38 pts


Theres the facts from each match, now you do the maths
Ill even start it off for ya!!

Bring back Atkinson? I bet the saints are still paying the interest on the loan they got to get him to the club. Dont tell me you are sticking up for the St A backline as well, gee lets ignore the facts all year, they might concede 300 golas for the year then. Regardless as i told MOR earlier, i will just concerntrate the 2's results from now on. As for the mid field i wouldn't know, they are obviously no good going by the results.

lol... Atkinson was a damn good tap ruckman...his problems (IMO) is Mobility, and the fact that he rarely took a grab...he would prefer to punch the ball, even when he was infront

Given that, Drum would probably suit us moreso, but the problem here is that he went down Vs the Burn with PCL damage... should be right within a couple

I agree with 3 of ur observations Bakers_patrons. You are right Craig Rutley is still an absolute gun and an asset to the BFC. Are you serious in thinking that wyche may have been equal with or infront off Boort at half time, thats a pretty crap observation when you see that Boort were 6 goals ahead of Wyche at half time, where wyche had only kicked 1 goal. I think if wyche get a good forward they will be a respectable side.

Wow, great MOR, i appreciate your assesment. As you are aware i know a couple who still play at the club, they do get up me on another thread so i am tracking your form a little.
4 th qtr fade outs point to 2 things,
1. Unfit
2. Poor player management. The coaching staff have to take responsibility to make sure you have as fresh as legs as possible.

or 3 your just plain no good.

Reid is an absolute gun, he didnt show anything when Boort played Donald. I think this was due to it being his first game in the black n white, give him a game or 2 to settle in. But he has shown in the last 2 games that he is an absolute ball magnet and can use it. Also he is very tough on the football.

D Batram is also a gun midfeilder and he will be vital if the pies are gunna have another good yr.

Perryman is also looking very good in the forward line. Il put him down to kick 50+ goals this yr.

MOR looking at your arrivals and departures for 2007 the saints season campaign was looking to be shaping up not too bad. With a couple of late signings from the ballarat you would feel quitley confident. Are these boys been playing i havent seen any big names in the best? Holmes looks to be the prized recruit down that way, even though his given alot of goals away this year, he seems to be the topic of conversation!

Well i have been watching from a far and as i said the quality has gone and not a lot to come into the league. Donald and boort have lost plenty but the other sides have improved a little which makes for a tight comp but without the quality, is it worth watching, i think no. Last time i was on i said some things that i bet lots of u didn't like but the truth hurts boys. Good to see your boys winning some games ROC

Yer i agree, the league has obviously lost alot of gun players in the likes of the picioanes and clark from donald just 2 name a couple. Also there does not seem to have been much new gun talent come into the league. But we will just have to wait n see how a few players perform.

Im not sure to be honest, haven't seen Wyche play, so can't particularly Judge where they are at. From what i have heard, however, they came out really well in the first against Boort, and their 0.5 should have probably been atleast 3.2 (came from an impartial "spectator" at the game.) If its wet, Wyche always seem to put up a fight, whether or not the scoreboard reflects it
