Re: North Central Football League

Have only seen one game of North Central Footy this year, but would take a sensational ruckman to top Zac Holmes! U are talking about White's mobility around the ground, but I couldnt help but notice Holmes having atleast 5 shots on goal, kicking 3 therefore also a handy forward! Was a sensational ruckman in the Wimmera League, but was plagued by injury! His tapwork in the middle is spot on as well, so will say it again, to top Holmes would take a great ruckman in the North Central Footy league!

Oh an truck, obviusly a tad biased towards Wyche I have noticed. I think the only bloke u've missed is Fizza Philand in that team!!!!

Yeah tad biased... as i said in my original post build a bridge. you didnt see josh was consistantly winning ruck contests, kicked 3 an was in the best.....while holmes was keeped quite. hol;mes should be at wyche any way, if you know any thing about the league you will know why

Re: North Central Football League

@ Truck:
Not gonna dispute your Submissions, but its the Omissions im wondering about...

B Rose for one...

@ Facts rite: In your opinion, Compare holmes, to last years 2 top ruckmen in Atkinson and Cooney

Re: North Central Football League

Brearly has a Wimmera FL Club BNF under his belt... plays his best footy at HBF im told... ... Brearly was last years Runner up in the Toolybuc award... obviously other clubs rate him.

This year, ive only seen one game of White, and he was up against a couple of Kids in the ruck... Did white get selected for Interleague? Holmes played from what i remember.

As for Wyatt... ill happily swap him with Reid, however both He and Andrews are both Centermen...Ricks the better of the 2

As for Bish getting "58" possessions... that takes me back to the point of White vs Kids in the ruck.

Just stirren ya mate.......... thought that would ge ya goin! keepup the goos work

yeah didnt know bout that one prob should swap him an
george allan over. just thought george needed a mention he is a very under rated player i feel. rose would dif be on the pine but dont think he would be doin much to warm it he would be on early in the first quater

Re: North Central Football League

Interesting choices, few key ommissions - is there really a place for a key backman (cooney) in the 10 ten?

no particular order

J White
C Rutley
A Cooney
R Andrews
S Coffey
C Ryan
B Rose
D Gash
D Needs
G Wyatt

Re: North Central Football League

Cooney, Baird, Polglase
R. Funcke, Barnes, Hill
Rose, Andrews, Benaim
Brearley, Needs, Nelson
Ryan, Stenhouse, Judd
Holmes, Wyatt, Rutley

White, De Araugo, Lloyd, Gash

Dont think i have missed anyone, i think this line up would be a tough one to beat?

Cooney would take the second tall, because i dont think any one has or will get the better of Baird this year. His runs straight and hard and reminds me of Rhodes a bit. Polglase to take the small forward and his set up from the backline can be devastating.

Funcke to take the smaller half forward or changing on baller, Ross doesnt seemed to get tackled very often and can set up and run with the ball and psot up a forward with his devastating kick. Barnes is the same, not many chf wil beat him this season and he can push forward and kick a long goal. Will often out mark his opponent and beat him for pace to the football. Hill is the same his incredible closing speed will make it hard for the second tall across half forward line and can play on a small as well. Very versatile player. His disposal sometimes lets him down.

Rose will run all day and pushes forward very well, loves to kick a goal. Andrews is well Andrews not much he cant do. defensive work or attacking can do it all the complete package. Benaim can play a key position but has great speed and disposal for a big bloke and will Rose playing a more attacking wingman, Benaim can push back cause sets up well form defence and runs the ball out well also.

Brearley will be the crumber at Needs feet but can also push up the ground to play as the extra centremen and push forward hard, finds the ball a lot and is a good finisher. Needs would be a stay at home centreman his height and big long goals are a feature and covers the ground not like he used to but still very mobile for big guy. Nelson would push up the ground more and can lead all day. Wont stop leading so is always a chance to get the footy.

Ryan would be left one out in the goal square with Stenhouse playing 20 metres out and giving the first lead and if he is not used up. Cliff is the next option. Judd is crumbing forward and can also be an option on a quick lead or one out. Very clever and knows where the goals are.

Holmes is a great tap ruckman and can give his side first use, covers a lot of territory and gets lot of footy around the ground, his disposal is also quite good. Would like to see him push forward, then when swapping with white, white would push back. Wyatt, is your hard in and under type player who can run hard both ways as well. Rutley is just your ball magnet who racks up getting kicks.

The bench, White is the back up ruckman, Deraugo can play at either end, with Gash the the back up midfielder. THe same as Scott Lloyd who can play midfield back or forward and can run all day.

Good to see someone else recognising this little fella. He's playing some great footy this year and I know he's highly rated by supporters etc around the Burn.

Re: North Central Football League

Yes lads I am in some good form, back me for the Brownlow, 3 votes on the weekend against the Brisbane Lions should see me leading at the halfway mark with the Juddernaut....
Anyway back onto NC Action.
Ablett's Round 10 tips.

Charlton v Boort:

Game of the round. Look for Boort to reverse the scores of Round 3 (42 - 65). Will be a great game to watch with both sides showing some speed and will need to cap off their hard running with pride in their own disposal. That is what will win it at the end of the day.
Result: Boort by 23 points.
Prediction: Nothing in it for 3 quarters.

Wedderburn v Birchip/Watchem:
Birchip will be pumped to win this one as a loss will see them at 3 and 5. However Wedderburn will be too strong with their main focal point up forward in some good form.
Result: Wedderburn by 32 points
Prediction:

Donald v Wycheproof/Narraport:
The old who give's a F%#k Cup!! Wycheproof to continue their good form with a hard fought win.
Result: Wyche by 10 points
Prediction: Josh White again to take about a million contested grabs.

Ablett Out.

Re: North Central Football League

Ablett - Should Bramley be cleared by the weekend, would his inclusion sway (atleast tighten) Your tips? I realise you wont tip against Boort (i wouldn't either in your situation...) but what are your thoughts?

I would dare say that St arnaud, Birchip/Watchem and even your beloved Boort would give a f%#k!! Seeing as if Wyche/Narra win it will take them to 3-5, level points with St arnaud and Birchip/Watchem if they lose, and Boort only one game clear if they lose. Very even comp which is good to see. Good prediction though.

Sorry, Cliff couldnt find a spot for myself or Feather as we are not at the Elite level like your good self. I have just over looked Jimmy Scambler and with 5 allowed on the bench, Scamballs will go onto the wing and Benaim is pushed onto the Bench.

Re: North Central Football League

I know everyone has been waiting for these tips all week so here they are.

Charlton v Boort: Should be a very well contested game, with it very even for most of the day. Alot will depend on the mid field with both sides being very strong in this aspect of the game. Charltons class players like Judd, Andrews, Thiesz and Sullivan should be too much for the likes of Bartram, Rutleys and Nelson to stop. If Boort are to get close Perryman has to have one of his rare games and kick 10.
Charlton by 8 goals.

Wedderburn v Birchip/Watchem: Coming of a loss to St arnaud at home Birchip/Watchem will be looking to prove themselves as cup contenders this weekend and no better way to do it then knocking off the ladder leaders at home. Wedderburn have been cruising along nicely so far but will come up against a very determined Birchip/Watchem side this week. Ryan, Scambler, and Koops all have to kick straight and Holmes, Lee, and Coloe all have to play out of thier skins to even come close to matching this well oiled Wedderburn side. Stenhouse to be the differance in kicking 9, with Ryan to kick 5.
Wedderburn by 4 goals

Donald v Wycheproof/Narraport: Wyche/Narra will be coming out looking for revenge after a loss to Donald in round 3. With a much Improved side from the side that played in round 3 Wyche/Narra should easily account for Donald. The midfield of Bish, R. Allan, Turner, White and the class forward in Hawkins should prove to be to much for the likes of Wyatt, Funke, Anderson, Atkin and Jones to stop all on thier own.
Wycheproof/Narraport by 7 goals.

Go Dees!
