I'd much rather see Wyche playing in the big one but the last few years we havn't played finals and have been pretty unlucky not to get the grand final. any one guess the last time Wyche hosted the grand final???

Played at whyche on the weekend and the gorund was in superb nick, its only the parking and general facilities that let them down when applying for finals i think. Ohhh and just one other blemish would have to be the state of their hot (cold) chips, was a little bit disapointed.

Who's everyone's tip for the feeney now, surely there is a clear top 3.

Will Wedderburn or Birchip finish top 2 with boort secured top spot, this weeks game between the bulls and magpies will shape that no doubt!

Can Wedderburn go back to back in the 1's and 2's, whats their chances?

Darren Stenhouse kicked his lazy ton on the weekend, the crowd was pretty subdued and didnt invade the ground.

Feeny will come down to Scambler and Jeffrey both will be sited by the umpires and will come in as vote magnets!!! As for the Burn back to back 1's and 2's, probably not I think the bulls have a solid 2's line up. It may well be a Boort and Burn granny as the bulls proved that they are ''chokers'' in last years finals series, may come back to haunt them again!

At Wyche Cant see why parking is an issue when the ground currently holds gate records for all finals barring grand final because '79 was the last time granny was held there.

parking is just a feeble excuse for the league and should not be continued to be used as such. many MAJOR leagues (status our league so vehemently tries to protect) do not have around the ground parking at their grand finals.

footy is the real loser and grannies are sucked of any passion/atmosphere when trotting track grounds are used. ie Weddurburn 2006 (crowd is about 4k from the action)

in terms of atmosphere, ground, location etc wyche is clearly a better option than st/a.

in terms of politics.....you be the judge!

wedderburn will be a big chance of winning the granny in the twos as long as the ones make it as well. a few over qualified players which probly wont play ones barring injurys

What facilities are we talking here??

Worst Umpiring Decision EVER

At bulls vs boort game on weekend. Brad Ryan ran with the flight of ball into a big pack, absolutely smashed into a heap of players, took the mark and somehow the umpire found a free against Ryan for an absolute cracker mark. Had amazing courage, do not know where the umpire pulled the free from. Terrible, terrible decision, as he should of been kicking for goal from 40 metres out. Very costly indeed.

Nah i can see the mans frustration. I think the umpiring standard has dropped this year and I have never been one to bag umpires without cause because it is a pretty tough job.... BUT there are a couple of 'maggots' out there that really need to sharpen up... They seem to make a mistake or a bad decision then one team gets mad, then, to try keep the peace in fear of losing control they over-umpire the game making both teams angers thus not helping the situation at all..
from best to worst (in terms of making the right calls) these are my umpires:

Goodridge two lengths
zigmond ants ballbag in front of
wilton and burge three from (and Throw a rug over)

'brett jeffery lookalike'
'couple I cant think of' Then DAYLIGHT to

'bloke with one eye' with

MR KEN ROUND a distant last

i agree that some of the decisions are woeful but ul find that it usually goes both ways

Re: Worst Umpiring Decision EVER

You will find, that it doesn't matter how disgraceful decisions are, as long as they're disgraceful all game, its all good...(in theory, but its still not good enough)

I get annoyed at decisions too, but if its that big of an issue, head to the local sports store, grab a whistle, and a white shirt, and give it a go yourself!

In saying all that, im all for 3 umpires, its been working a treat, and the umpires who we rate below most others, are picking up their game, as they've only 1/3 to officiate

Hence the man that made this wonderful call against Ryan for only god no's what.

Yes, MR Round had a tough day, even Boorts coach said after the game he couldnt believe the decision, and ash went off after it and played no further part in the game due to a corked thigh. Ah Well.

Lookin forward to the finals. Anyone know where all the finals are? Heard that St Arnaud might host two of them but another team cater for one. Gee, that sounds harsh for the catering town.

Jeffrey would have to be a short favourite for feeny, he stands out so much and is so influential in games. Scambler pretty quiet on weekend anyway.

Why would that be the case that they get two???

St Arnaud having two finals didnt come about - but the reason was that birchip, charlton and another few grounds werent up to scratch for various reasons. But hasnt had to be the case, so all is good.

Fair enough... what are the locations for the finals???

Witnessed one of the best individual performances of a player yesterday..

M Perryrman kicked 7 goals in the last quarter to win the league goal kicking by 1 goal. Finished the game with 17 goals.. Amazing and inspiring effort.

Looking at last years Grand Final Footy record, that takes him to Equal 2nd in the NCFL goalkicking record, for a single game. Alan Jackson holds the top spot with 20 (v Watchem/Corack), while Perryman (v Donald) joins John Goode (v Watchem/Corack) on 17 goals.
