Any predictions for the league medal this year? I'm predicting Luke Brown (Wedderburn) will have a stellar year to take out the league medal with 54 votes.

Depends if he can keep that balsa wood like frame from breaking this year! How many games has he missed the last two seasons with injury? ;)

Rup? wyche would of been missing a few too id imagine. hows boort shaping up.

Yeah Grub still isnt back, Hawky was out with a corky, Thommo was unavailable, Jess Whites hammy went bang warming up for the 2's, Tommy also unavalible. Dec had his sisters 21st. Duffy only played the first half before leaving for murray to moine. was a good hit out, with a few boys playing different positions.

Joey Coatsworth smashes mirrors on black cats under ladders....... shoulder came out with about 1 min to go and will miss the opening few rounds. he really is that 1 in a million that you hear about.

Any news out of the Bulls game in Bendigo??

Bulls got smashed! no match for the well drilled, extreamly fit and skillfull Sandhurst side. Bulls were short of numbers both in the seconds and seniors, 4 recruits played with most showin they no how to kick the footy. Tom Wyatt and Ash Bogan showing the most. no injurys to come out of it i dont believe. Birchip have a little ways to go to get back to their form of last year

any results or info from the practice matches.

Redbacks had a hit out against white hills on the weekend with a 3 goal win, was good to see some recruits showing a bit of promise.
couple of special comments,
Jake hayes played a good tagging role in the later parts of the game, was like shit to a blanket with many 1 percenters, especially his blocks.
Robbie tonkin tryed to penetrate many defences but went home empty handed.
Brad weston the only real sucessor having somewhat of a purple patch early and finishing off his good work late with a major.
Gash struggled to earn respect off his players with an early exit, and not leading the way.
And good to see cam gould showed some good form on his 17th birthday.

Injuries
I think luke brown and andrew brett have both done somethin to there chest, didnt look good for brown but im sure it wasnt to seriouse, nothin a bit of TLC wouldnt fix,
and brett well i think only time will tell.
Tom Duffus had a collapsed liver which ended wat looked to be a big game for him, very early on.
Was good to see some of the young fellas in cam steel and jesse jackson gettin a lot of TOG, will only help them in the long run.

Best on Ground for the day was probably another recruit, noel who steered the ship the ship to victory.

Thanks B Shag..

Short of numbers? That's a bit of a worry.. Does that look like it will be a problem throughout the year, or just that some couldn't get there for the praccy?

Was Smith one of the four to have a run?

yeah not to much of a worry i dont think money, just sotiming issue and lads not being able to make it ect. i reckon this year will have more blokes missing out than the last couple so good signs. yeah rhetta had a run, showed a bit up forward, but was sort of hard to tell seeing the bulls hardly touched the ball all day, will be a handy pick up no doubt thou.

Goalskie they may show somehting but they are also playing boort who will be ready to fire.

while im here, what are everyone's thoughts on a merger with loddon valley football leauge to create a central vic league with 16 teams - could be played as one division or two divisions (with a promotion relegation system).

i think something needs to be done to ensure the long term viability of the league and its clubs and a proactive response from our league would be great.

the league also needs to try innovative things throughout the year - like double headers, night games etc

any other thoughts on what could be done to 'spice' up the league?
