Now we're buying premiership merch and memorabilia, and no doubt there'll be 5000+ paid-up members next year. Guarantee there'll be 10k+ of us by 2030, when Kearney and possibly a 36yo Garner will already be in the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

Current Hall of Fame eligibility requires that players be 5 years retired, but as the article you've linked to suggests, that is changing for AFLW players to fast track them one year after retirement. By 2030, I'm not convinced that either Emma or Jas will be retired.

I'm pretty sure they have changed the eligibility rules for women's players. I think it may be 1 or 2 years.

Ho do our aflw numbers compare to other clubs
There were 76k for the league this year, so our total of 4392 was a bit above the mean/average. Around the same as Port Adelaide. 1000+ more than the Bulldogs, and somehow ~500 more than Richmond.

Geelong has the most with 8k, while Adelaide and Sydney have the highest ratio with around 9.25% of their entire club tally coming via AFLW memberships (ours was 8.675%) whereas Collingwood's is more like 5%.

Premiership caps have sold out and no more are coming in. Those Auskick kids could do quite well out of the scarcity of supply.

They don't use and AFL style points system in the AFLW, they use a different bidding system

They won't trade pick 19, their Academy prospect Havana Harris is expected to be one of the first 2 or 3 players selected as she is a bit of a "unique" talent. There was an article posted on the AFLW website about her yesterday.
Ah ok. They've also got Tarra Harrington and Mia Salisbury in the top 25 it seems.
So picks 27 or 30 with GC might be trade up options for us depending where the bids fall with our 36 and 42.

How are you going to top this next year, GR? 🤣 Let’s hope Garner doesn’t do a shoulder in R1!
Smack ya self on the nose with a newspaper.

Looks like Bella Smith will either stay in Sydney or play for Fremantle, and Lulu Pullar's trade is still ongoing.

Pies target duo, Hawks' Harris pursuit up in the air

Sydney is hoping to secure North Melbourne's Lulu Pullar, though negotiations remain ongoing, while talks around a deal for Imogen Brown to head to the Swans and for Montana Beruldsen to get to the Tigers are also in the works.

Bella Smith has interest from Fremantle, but also remains a realistic chance to stay at Sydney, while Carlton secured a deal for Gold Coast captain Tara Bohanna late on Monday afternoon.

Well that's crap.
Absolutely is. Very disappointing. I phoned the day after the family day to see if the gear was in store and they said it should have been but they weren’t sure when it would arrive. I went interstate for two days and phoned as soon as I got back to see if it had arrived yet so I could go straight in to buy stuff, and they said it had come in and was already sold out. And now the shirts aren’t on the website any more either.

I missed the final totals, but they were out my price range on the first day.
I think the lowest closing prices were about 750 - Jammin wound up around 2K. I bid on a couple but I know my limits. Also there’s no pressing need to pay high prices for packaged souvenirs when you can (thank god, still) literally get their signatures on anything and take photos with the players any time.

Actually, Ruby Tripodi's auction was still going when I had a quick look, and it went for.

That's incredible. Most of them were still around $500 with about 10 hours to go. Just Jas, Alice and the Skipper in excess of $1k at that point. I meant to log back in and place a late bid but forgot. Congrats to all the winning bids.
