Just got home after the trip down the highway. Great to see so much royal blue and white at Princes Park along with the noise.
One area of improvement would have been to reverse the stage so it faced the only available public stand in the place.
Minor annoyance but … how good were those Roo Girls!

Typical from the AFL, very fan-unfriendly. Massive grand stand of blue and white and no one can see the girls get their medals or cup. AFL only cares about the TV audience.

I've been a slow burn to become a constant follower of Womens football. Certainly the Mens team haven't given us much over the last long amount of time.

Tess Craven, who I had previously thunk as a bit of a seagull, liking the easy ball, put her body on the line all night .... massive to do after copping a smashing last week - I unreservedly apologise and you are indeed a Premiership Shinboner.

Can we snag a male version of Alice O'Laughlin from somewhere please. She's a nasty, super talented, non stop small forward with a super engine and work rate.

Steph Catley made a comment when the Matildas were up and about, wtteo - "boys will now grow up watching girls play football and not think it's strange". Across the Codes.

Well done girls, it's nice to be excited about the footy again! Hopefully the kick start for the men.

Congratulations on the flag , you should be mighty proud of your girls , to go thru undefeated and win the premiership is a mighty achievement. Such A brilliant team , none of us are remotely close , even us finalists . Rapt that jaz garner finally got some recognition what a star she is ,,,,,Enjoy all the accolades !

Just watching the replay. Big surprise Kelli Underwood picked Brisbane pregame, the other two picked north by less than a goal. Even after an undefeated season and percentage of 315, were underestimated.

To hear one of the commentators say that “this is the first AFLW expansion team to win a flag” made my teeth grind. Thanks again AFL, for your earlier and shameful exclusion of North AFLW team from the get-go of the competition.

Pretty much as I expected before the round one match. That team is far superior to any AFLW team rolling around on the park. There isn’t one player on that list that would be an outside the top 16 at other clubs and easily have 10 of the top 20 players in the comp. Well done to the flyers and good on the North fans for getting around em. Its a very young competition but having one on the board is good for the W program. If they can keep that team together they’ll win next years comp too.

We had zero passengers. Every player did their job. It was so good.

Thought he was very complimentary about our team and GF performance. He has done an amazing job keeping the Brisbane girls at or near the top considering the quality of players have left over last 6/7 years.

Outside the fumbley first five minutes against the Crows her finals series was outstanding, I think they were the three best games she has played.

Chasing and tackling pressure was amazing. Didn't give the lion's any easy possessions!

Well, I've got the double now. I was at the MCG in 1975 for our first VFL premiership and now at Ikon Park for our first AFLW premiership. Great memories!

At the start of last season's finals series, we were 2-14 against the big three, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne. We are now at 9-15.

For six seasons we have been the hunters, from next season we will be the hunted.

Bring on 2025.

He was right. I thought we actually did a really good job of hanging in there for the middle part of the game but at no point did we even look like being able to get the game on our terms. We were outgunned from start to finish.

That's the best I've ever seen any team play against us by a fair margin. Your girls were a class above.

It’s really hard to pick but as her goal music played for a second time last night I realised that Vikki wall might have become my favourite player across the men’s and the women’s. just a ****ing beast

Also, noticed Craig starcevich cops a lot of flak here. Know nothing about him prior to this, so maybe it’s deserved. But fwiw I think his post game presser is worth a watch, speaks humbly/well and clearly loves the women’s game.

Wanted to shout out Darren Crocker. Has been close to a constant at our club for nearly 40 years. Has seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows in various capacities. Darren is part of the fabric of this club and what makes it special. As far as I’m concerned he is now a North Melbourne legend.
