overall essentially we have upgraded mcgrath with Hetherington
upgraded pullar with sheerin

and will bring in 2 draftees to replace the girls we delisted

with the draftees we should go 1 small and 1 tall to round out the list

we are going to be unstoppable next year, second undefeated season coming up

The AFLW draft doesn't use a points system, to bid for an academy or F/D player you just need to have a pick within 18 selections.
Ah ok sorry my first AFLW trade/draft I'm paying real attention to, usually just looked at the posts after the fact.
I didn't read it closely so thought the first pick in the matching process had to be within 18 picks but the same points system was in operation.
So it's unlikely that teams would need to move back then? I guess we just take 36 and 42 to the draft.

I wouldn't say that. Crows are pretty good and Lions might come back with hunger. Nothing is given.

Yeah, it's a bit of surprise just how simple the AFLW draft system is compared to the mess that is AFL draft.

Any chance we can get our Irish girl's to do a bit of talent spotting/recruiting when they go home for Christmas ?
no list spots other than 2 draftees next week at this stage but sure they can do some in case someone goes on the inactive list (assuming no last min retirements)

Lions would want to find it again because it is clearly gone at the moment, despite the talent, which losing one may well do.

Which of our players are unsigned ?
There are five players, Bresnehan, King (Emma), Martin, Shierlaw, and Wall still unsigned for next season and beyond.

I believe the first three have signed but they haven't been announced yet, Shiierlaw and Wall I don't know about.

Must keep wall….. Hope we sign both of them on again…..surely they and club come to an agreement in pursuit of cup no 2 .

Amazing where the women are at on field but now off field with this acquisition compare to mens on field & trading period in recent times.

Don't get how anyone could be critical. You don't read or hear about this when a club like Geelong gets a player(s).

It's quite amusing how the noise from outside in the media and among Richmond supporters is about how unbelievably well we've done with this trade and how unfair it is, yet the noise from inside this group is about how poor a trade this was for us. Admittedly that noise is coming from just a couple of malcontents. But it does place into context with everything else they say that they will never, ever be happy with anything the club does.

Are you talking about the media or people here? Or both?

What is the deal with Tayla Harris, i thought she was out of contract at the 'dees, so how do they have any leverage where she can go next year ?
It's the same in the men's program - even OOC, if Dees won't agree a trade, Tayla has to either go into the draft and take her chances, or re-sign with Demons

When I spoke to Niamh at the B&F it was very much still up in the air but that is admittedly a whole week ago now.
