Here we go, official announcement and explanation, can we stop potting the club now?

No, because it's ********* pathetic.

The decision to adopt the darker strip was partly because the Roos were frequently forced to wear white shorts with their predominantly white jumper at home games, giving the impression they were the ‘away’ side.

Do they think their fans are that stupid?
(Non-North fans, please don't answer that.....Lol)

They also just outlined as to why they were told to wear white shorts: they wear a predominantly white guernsey. They knew that.

Also, their views that white shorts = away team is outdated and backwards. Obviously North want this old fashioned shit rule to be brought back. Newsflash North, this is 2016, not 1966!

That's the official reasoning? Pathetic. Absolutely no one sees them as the away team in that get up.

I'm fine with them changing, but at least make the reasoning a bit better than that. Even "increasing the contrast when at home" is a more viable reason than that. How sad. Is what it is though.

We can stop potting the club for doing it by stealth, but not for their reasoning. They're no more immune to criticism than West Coast were with the tri-panel or Brisbane with the Paddle-Pop.

They say its "partly" because they're directed to wear white shorts in home games, then give no further reasoning. So reading between the lines its the only reason.

Credit to them for actually acknowledging it though, as stupid as it seems to the vast majority of us.

I understand that it's a shitty decision, but there's no need for the whole board to keep going into meltdown over it, the decision has been made, and we're going to have to live with it for at least a few years. Time to move on.

You must be new here....

:p

Will we see the blue jumper with white shorts at all in 2017?
Probably because the AFL is completely ****ed over this issue, they were almost there with Dimetriou but since Gill has taken the reigns it's been a complete cluster****. And of course you have Hawthorn taking the piss (or is it the poo) with the brown jumper white shorts away kit.
