well i'm picking an eltham versus macleod grand final.at this time of the year with the bulls winning everywhere on the ground besides the score board, it looks over for the tiges.thanks to all for the last 4 years but all good things come to an end.hopefully we can make the five.anyway besides that get ready for a true original game of local footy next saturday at the tiger den. we just love playing the green slime.just a quick mention of the 2 young blokes who both broke their collar bones. good luck to jimmy drapac and matt chapman.get back soon both of ya.
www.heidelbergfc.com.au for all your info.

Now that Heidelberg has chalked up their 40th consecutive win - congrats - and the empire doesn't appear to be starting to crumble just yet, does anyone have any serious doubts that they won't record their 50th consecutive win, in Round 12 against Northcote Park ?

And what about going for consecutive win number 75 in Round 17 of season 2011, or even the unthinkable, 100 consecutive wins in Round 2 of season 2013 ? This is of course assuming we still have 18 H&A rounds and the Final Five.

This will be end of season 2010 ladder:

1/Bundoora & Premiers easily
2/West Preston
3/Heidelberg
4/Montemorency
5/Macleod
6/Greensborough
7/Northcote Park
8/Nth Heidelberg
9/Lalor
10/Eltham

This was your ladder predictions posted prior to the season. What do you base your predistion that macleod will finish lower than your original thoughts

Do you still think Bundoora will win the premiership easily, after thier first two games.

Montmorency to finish fourth and Eltham to finish 10th? Didnt you see the game

You are a d..head

Two rounds in, Bundoora will still win the flag easily, they have the best coach in the business and the best players ,with the new guys jelling week by week

is macleod the real deal in div 1? will they compete against the best and be competitive all year or will they just come back down to div 2 next year and dominate again? surely if that were the case they'd lose a number of players to other div 1 sides?

They have exceeded my expectations so far and I think most supporters are excited to have a couple of wins on the board.

Will we be competitive all year ? Time will tell
Will we go back to D2 next year ? I don't think so

And I know you are quite envious of our position having gone back to a post you made in Sept last year

"as a mernda player we arent meant to be the biggest fans of whittlesea at all.. however u macleod dogs have something coming to you this week.. i hope whittlesea smash you guys and everyone can watch you all put your tails between your legs for a 4th consecutive year.. all a bunch of arrogant selfish players, none of you will make it in divvy 1 at all.. good luck if u do have fun being smashed by 100 points every week, one of your best highly paid/contracted players wont be to happy then... "

I'm sorry Razor - I couldn't resist, but you should concentrate more on getting Mernda actually winning a game in Division 2

no need for panic at the nest boys... we were zip and two at the start of "09" also, finished 3rd, defintely not a shell of the past couple of yrs sides either !! lots of injuries, blokes getting round in the magoos for a bit of fitness to get back in the seniors, plenty still there for the boys !!! bit of a setback on sat night but we all knew it was gonna be tough, eltham will push every side this yr, good running side very quick and skilful !!
well bounce back, hopefully this week , with a bit of luck well get a few boys back against bundy, dont write us off yet ;) nothing wrong with the twos and there midfield either denny crane, still lots to come back for the main game too... well still be up and about

Very true mate, it really is laughable for anyone to write off Mont or the Bulls. I was probably having a crack more at the tool that seems to only come on here and make ridicules comments and got suckered in.

Both have started off with a poor start but I really have no doubt, when we get to the business end of the season both will be there-a-bout.

Both teams, despite injuries and players to come back DO NOT want to be 0-3

The word I have heard out of Sydney Cres is that Big Lance has actually retired ! I have also heard that there are "SEVERAL" other players who were less than impressed with the clubs mid week decision to "fine" them for not attending all the pre season training . THIS I am told was "one of" the reason's behind Lance's decision to give it away!
Lalor are NOT a happy team going into the season opener against Heidelberg.

Looks like Big Red has come out of early retirement and is bound for Craigieburn. Funnily enough, so too is Dale Piggot.

Craigieburn either have a fetish for Fat 'n' Chunky Full forwards or have just picked up solid sponsorship with a Meat Pie company :D

Wasn't "The Budgie" captain of Bundoora last season ?

A long way to go for a game of football unless employment is also involved.

As indicated, we lost our cousin tragically last year and Budge, along with other family members, have been granted clearances from their Clubs and the Leagues for the day to play for Stawell in a commemorative much.

He'll be back the following week to line up against the Panthers.

Bundoora might aswell send Richard cole up there also...........one way ticket though.Would have to be one of the worst so call big name recruits to play not only at bundoora but in the northern/Diamond valley football league ever.Well done Bundoora recruitement staff, three votes..........glad the coin your paying that pathetic waste of space isn't coming from my pocket..and if the coaching panel have any balls he won't get a game this week. Please tell me he didn't put his hand out for his match payments for the first two games probably had five touches in total and sat on the pine for atleast 5 of the 8 quarters they've played so far.Way to go bulls going backwards at a rapid rate, lets hope the others don't know what he's getting paid.Won't finish the year in a bundoora jumper in my opinion.

Fair call there..... after seeing there 2's in full flight there has to be better options to pick from.....

Talking of Bulls 2's. Young kid Marshall I think is his name. Third generation @ Bundoora. Goes real well.

Regarding their Seniors . Wouldn't be writing them off just yet. Better to slowly build than crash and burn.

Question - Where does Budge get his nickname from?

I knew his old man and 20 years ago referred to him as Budge

Is it a family nickname or long time club derived nickname?

It's a family nickname, had it since day dot.
Long and convoluted story behind it, but it stems from the nickname the old man had about 30 odd years back.

from what I recall when talking to "Budgie" and others at Yulong the other year, his father, who also was a relatively good footballer, was nicknamed "Sparrow", so Trev's nickname was a flow on from that.

Ease up! He has busted his arse over pre season and has lost 15 kilos. he has struglled with back related hamstrings through all the practice matches and probably shouldnt have gone around last week. He is not playing at all this week due to that exact injury. he is a class player and he showed it when he starred in out last practice match. Give him time and he will reward the club with some great games. Dont write him or the club off yet. When we gel we will be very haard to beat.

The old man is 'Nest'
Trev's older brother is 'Sparrow'
Trev next in line is 'Budgie'
