More woe for Novak Djokovic in the wake of his Australian visa blow as he now faces being banned from the FRENCH OPEN in May... after the country's politicians voted through new rules banning the unvaccinated from ALL sports arenas​

France's lower house voted by 215 to 58 to give final approval to a vaccine pass that will exclude the unvaccinated from restaurants, sports arenas and other venues. It will apply to everybody over the age of 16 and the law will take effect shortly. Stanislas Guerin, who represents the 17th and 18th arrondissements in Paris, said: 'Djokovic's behaviour was irresponsible. Australia is a sovereign country which makes it rules and the rules should be respected. 'We can't have two weights and two measures regarding the Covid Pass. If you are called Djoko, Nadal or Mr Whoever, you respect the rules. 'All the big events which will take place in France will adopt the Covid Pass. Who would understand if we asked our citizens to make an effort and respect the rules and we then authorised some to get out of them?'

Where are the idiots who posted in here that were wailing that the open was gone if Novax wasn't allowed to play?

Looks like a big year for Beijing in 2023, not only are they hosting the Australian Open but they get the French and maybe Wimbledon & the US as well. ;):rolleyes:

For me, that statement just sets off alarm bells that the whole TA Board is up to their necks in the stupidity that occurred, and are seemingly too stupid to realise that a mea culpa might win back some degree of sympathy at least with the public (not much, sure, but anything might help!). Instead, it would appear they're planning to brazen it out with "not our fault, nothing to see here"!

Maybe the french tennis should investigate that Zoran guy mentioned a few pages earlier incase his signature appears on the certificate
 
In terms of what has just happened it's not finished until the Federal Court justices have handed down their reasoning. But I suspect this thread, or another one like it, will continue to have traffic for so long as he's not able to participate in Grand Slam events due to his vaccination status, which looks like being for the rest of the pandemic atm.
