At his best a decent player but sentiment from what I watched of him this season very much overruled output - he was average. Spent more time appealing for penalties than doing anything meaningful
That's been the case for a few years.

Heart and soul player but his body is now held together by sticky tape.

Did read it was actually for 2026. The Eels are aware they'll likely have to have him on the roster for next year as very few will want to get close to the 900k he's on.

Tonga sure left a few tries out there, and showed impressive goal-line defence. Although he did one very good thing, and didn't have a terrible game by any means, Lolo is no Moses. Have Tonga got anyone better? Debutants for the Kangaroos did well, but their completion rate was rubbish, and a better attacking side would have punished that.

No surprise to see the Kumuls turn over Fiji, who only seem to have half a team. Bit surprised they didn't play Ipape, dunno if he's fully fit, but he's arguably the best 9 in SL.

Tonga deserved to win on that 1st half alone. Poor effort from the Kiwis, but with so many new faces probably not a surprising result.

Some dumb penalties given against both sides. I'm guessing Toddy or the bunker didn't want to give the one for the markers not being square when SJ went for the FG.
