Not sure mate, haven't seen him dominate any games up here. The standard of the comp is on par with that of the Old Scholars down there in the South so he may struggle in the SFL. Best of luck to him though.

simple answer...NOPE! putrid player who is decent against old, fat retiring has-beens...

a good example: Justin O'Brien playing well in a decent comp. is like expecting an NTFL/SFL player to match it with the likes of judd, cousins and kerr.

Apparently Perth have picked up a heap of players form Campbell Town, who have folded this year.

Not sure what is being done with the roster, anyone know?

Campbell Town Folded, but left it late till they made the offical announcement. The roster was almost complete... grounds booked etc.... So as of a few weeks back they were re doing the roster. The end result will be No more Bye in Div 2.

Shame about C'town folding, as they were one of if the oldest footy clubs in the state.

That was very dissapointing news that C'Town have been forced to fold due to lack of funds and players in the area.

The changing of the roster has been a absolute pain however its good that the NTFA have managed to schedule in two byes to give guys a bit of a break mid season.

Anyone heard of who has picked up who? Apparentley Tamar Cats have recruited well along with Fingal as usual.

Scotch are looking strong and have recruited some good players including Brad Cottam Who will be assistant Coach and Adrian Whitehead former Burnie player to go along with players from last year Charles Beaumont and Robbie Rigney.

This might help, all the clearances and new registrations that have been submitted are listed, fair few names on there.

Anyone know of any practice games for the NTFA Div 2 sides this weekend?

Also anyone know how the practice games from last weekend went, I think Perth and Evandale played (not against each other).

I have heard this will be a pretty solid competition this year, lots of quality players running around.

Hasnt dominated any games !! you dont kick 330 goals in 60 games, ave of over 5 a game without dominating a couple of games. Kicked 13 once 9 twice and 8 four times. Not bad from a non dominator !!

A putrid player my bottom. Who are you to call him putrid. You dont make the NTFA squad 4 times, play in 4 grand finals with a b.o.g medal, (should have been 2.) Kick 330 goals playing on ball 50-60% of the time. Win club goal kicking 4 times, TOP 3 IN B & F 4 times (one win a second and 2 thirds). And got bashed week in and week out by thugs like towns and savage and others who could not beat him fairly. Also won Ntfa MVP ONCE AND CAME SECOND ONCE. PUTRID, I DONT THINK SO !!!! ALSO HE DID ALL THIS FROM THE AGE OF 18 TO 22. Goes ok for a kid.

Are you married to the bloke?

The difference between the teams up there is extremely wide, who did he kick 13 against, OL's last year? whoop de do...

Will struggle in the SFL, will be a bit part player at best. Like I said best of luck to him though.

Anyone know how Scott Harvey goe's. He training with us in Kalgoorlie and i'm just wordering what possie/sort of player he is?

Cheers

Does anyone know the makeup of the NTFA Division 2 side that is going to play in the rep game, or at least a squad? I saw the NEFU squad and they look pretty strong, will be interesting to see how they go.

I saw that the Uni Mowbray coach is the coach for the team, interesting considering they have only won 1 game this year.....

Just wondering how Justin O'Brien is going down in the SFL, who is he playing for? Am interested to know how he is travelling given the pump up Uni Eagle gave him.

Voice of sport,

Justin O'Brien is playing for lindisfarne. SFL regional comp and dominating. I have not had the pleasure of watching him play this year however talk to him on a regular basis. He has been in the best players 4 times from his 7 games and managed to get himself named in the sfl regional representative squad.

This is a player who i helped recruit to uni mowbray and did wonders why he was there. Some interesting facts from uni eagle shows some of the qualities that he possesses considering he was tagged most weeks and calling him putrid against old has beens was way off the mark. He was in the elite of the competition and now looks like being the same in the sfl. Would get picked for any sfl premier league team too.

That is great to hear, if you read my posts correctly I said best of luck to the bloke, it is good to see him going well down there. However in saying that, I belive there is a bit of a gap between the standard of the Regional League and the Premier League, so I wouldn't go around saying he would get picked for any SFL team, especially given you yourself say that you haven't seen him play this year.

Also, you may want to re-read who makes which comments before you accuse people of saying things they have not said, I never called him putrid. I said he would be a bit part player if playing in the Premier League and I stand by that. I'm sure he wouldn't be getting consistent game time at Glenorchy or Clarence. Again, best of luck to the bloke though.

Uni Mowbray would love his services up here this year, they stink this year, not sure how they got over Tamar on the weekend? Any idea anyone?

Having played at glenorchy a few years ago i have no doubt that he would be playing as a regular senior member. Not as one of their guns for sure but would be in their best 21 without a doubt. Good luck to him as i know he is receiving offers from victorian country leagues for next year too. And please someone tell whats going on at uni, has all the players leaving since 2005 finally caught up with them. Or is the coach?

not sure how mowbray beat tamar...as we beat mowbray the week before..
i can tell you as we have recruited some mowbary players to our club this year...the coach is not very well liked or respected in any sort of circles..(this is a guy who as coach of the div 2 rep side picked 7 of his own players in the squad) every club he get involves with turn to S##T. they have lost a lot of club stalwarts from behind the scenes due to his invlovement.
have played against justin o'brien and watched him...can play..personally I think he would be a better player in a more open style of footy than div.2

would hardly call towns a THUG? couldnt pull the skin off a rice custard if he tried, and savage is nothing but class ( will wack em if he needs too ) but a class player none the less.
if this "kid" is so good why doesnt he give it a go in a better league?

Igor i agree with you but towns did knock a kid out in the 2004 grand final. Savage tough and very classy being one of the top 10 players since unis entry in 2004. As for o'brien trying a higher level, don't know but he should at some stage. Classy player who loves a goal. Had some pretty good delivery though.

would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on a top 10 or 20 players since unis entry in 2004 in div 2.

Justin O'Brien is starring at Lindisfarne. Playing fulltime mid field, had 45 possesions against Huonville on saturday. Been in best players most weeks and made the sfl rep side. The 2 blues going nicely at 12-0. Shame about uni mowbray, disappointing to hear they are going so badly.

That's what happens when you lose 15 players from your GF side of 07 + fielding kids. They ran Old Scotch close for 3 quarters on Saturday before they were overrun, and it wouldn't surprise me if they get another big scalp before the season's out.

Old Scotch barely got out of 1st gear last Saturday from all reports, played one of their worst games all year. Stepped it up in the last quarter when it needed to be won.

I agree that Uni are on the rise, will definately have a good go at the top 4 teams before seasons end. Their coach though has no idea, flodded their backline in the last quarter and had no one to kick it to upfield. The ball got sent down there that many times it was almost a certainty that Old Scotch were going to kick enough goals to get over the line.
