Yep, the conspiracy theory for years was that the Pies only took Jason and Cameron to get Travis.

Looks like a good theory in hindsight.

It cost us pick 19 to draft Jason in 2000, whereas pick 39 was all that was required to draft Travis in 2004..

Only in the AFL..

I remember Matthew Lokan being in a shit shampoo commercial.

If by "being in", you mean going "aheheheheheh" for about 1 second.

Michael W Clark.

Played one game with Fremantle in 1999 after being a zone selection in 1995.

Was delisted at the end of 1999, then was picked up by Collingwood in the draft with pick 88.

Didn't manage a game with Collingwood and was delisted at the end of 2000.

david antonowicz was pretty obscure but a very memorable name due to it's obscurity it was always up the top of the player lists in season reviews when they were listed either by name or number (wore number 4)

How about Matthew Connell. Played 3 games for WC in 1993, then moved to the Crows and won their 1995 B&F in his first year. Played in both Crow flags then finished up on 99 career games.

He is coaching/teaching Aussie rules in Europe I believe.

Simon hawking. Was gonna be the next alistair lynch. Held dunstall goalless at Waverly in 94 one day. Held Ablett goalless. Had a raking 70meter left foot and could take a hang. Went to Brisbane as 1 of the 8 lions to go, then traded to Sydney for the pick used on Simon black. Retired after one year in Sydney and then after a year out of footy getting injuries right was drafted by the magpies. Never played a senior game due to hamstring injuries.

Was on 4 AFL lists yet only played senior footy at one club. Surely a record???

Also Sean Charles. Watched him kick 5 and wins final against Carlton as a 17 year old. Absolute jet. Finished at stkilda u der blight, a shadow of the 17 year old kid I remembered. Wonder what happened to him I between...

The other footnote to Jason Cloke's career was that even when he was drafted as a F/S in 2000, the word was that Travis was the most talented of the Cloke progeny.. the race between Richmond and Collingwood to sign Jason (and Cameron) under the F/S rule was always linked with the chance to draft Travis under the rule in 2004.

I remember someone on bigfooty used to have the signature "Travis Cloke, worth every bit of the two duds that preceded him"
