Absolute purest Homer. Utterly brilliant.

hahaha yeh, that "i think he's talking to you" has got to be an all time classic...

i love the gag after it too, when sideshow bob attaches himself under their car as they are driving to their new home...

and homer asks everyone: who wants to drive through the cactus bushes??

bart and lisa scream "Me"...side show bob screams "No" from under the car,

and homer's like "2 out of 3" hahahaha

"Fine, you just lost your cut."

Here's a tricky one - who is the only student (besides Bart and Lisa) who has the same colour hair as his skin?

What about Lewis?

"Because when you reach your hand into a pile of goo.....that was your best friends face"

and

"Sure we will Mr. Homer....sure we will"

When Homer becomes a teacher. Marge and Homer in bed, Marge tells Homer that she knows he's been telling personal secrets about her. Homer delivers this brilliant little speech. Forget it Marge, It's Chinatown!

and

The story of how Maggie came into the world. Homer was finally out of debt so he quit his job at the Powerplant and began working in the bowling factory. Because he needed more money for Maggie he had to leave his job at the bowling alley, and as he's saying goodbye to everyone he says "and joey, we'll make it to Califoria one day."

"Smithers I'm Home"

"Already?"

"Yes"

lol when burns takes over the airwaves, and starts creating his own tv shows...

Ok here are two

A) The song over the credits: People who need people

and one of my all time favourite bits:

B)
I'm pretty sure that's Homer Simpson in the oven, rotating slowly.

A hilarious line i remember from that episode...

Marge suggests Homer ask the bowling alley for a pay raise,
Homer says: "Yes! I'm gonna march right in there and ask Al for a raise!"
*immediately goes to next scene, Homer at the bowling alley*
Homer: "Steve!.... I mean Al!......."

hahahaha yeh i remember that,

god...homer...always great for a laugh

if lenny can teach a class, lenny can teach a class!!

i love homer.

one of my favourite homer gags is when he is training to be krusty, and he walks into the kwiki mart and discovers he gets a discount

Homer: [gasps] You mean I get five percent off on everything in store just because I look like -- I mean, just because I _am_ Krusty the Klown?and then it cuts to his forehead, as he is pondering whether to take advantage of this, and when he finally comes to the conclusion that he will, it cuts back to a wider shot and you see him already in his car eating his hotdog...hahaha...it just has to be seen though it cant be described.

ok what about this:

bake em away toys

this is slowly creeping into a name a quote thread lol...

but what the heck, one of my all time favourite scenes

Homer: Marge? Since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass me the syrup?
Marge: Dear, please pass your father the syrup, Lisa.
Lisa: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat product.
Bart: You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup homeboy?
Homer: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning.
Marge: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart.
Homer: Bart, thank your mother for pointing that out.
Marge: Homer, you're not not-talking to me and secondly I heard what you said.
Homer: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case.
Bart: Uhhh, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to.
Homer: Bart, go to your room.

bake em away toys
Cape Feare again!

With the cactus, Mr Thompson. Bob is arrested after singing the entire score of the HMS Pinafore.

Bart: Take em away boys

Wiggum: That's my line, bake em away toys

Lou: What Chief?

Wiggum: Do what the boy said.

Hullabalooza: "Hi, I'm Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins"

OK then:
"They let me sign cheques with a stamp! A stamp!"

"How did you spend the annual budget within a month"

Homer becomes sanitation commissioner. The garbage man can.

2 classic lines from that episode are

Quimby: "Homer you better figure out a way to keep those men working"

Homer: "I think I have an idea"

Qumiby " Good, because those men won't work for nothing"

Homer: "Doh"

and The Ray patterson speach "Oh gosh. You know, I'm not much on speeches, but it's so gratifying to... leave you wallowing in the mess you've made. You're screwed, thank you. Bye"

Flying Hellfish? "We had to say 'dickety' because the Kaiser had stolen..."

Great episode...

I actually can't remember which episode it came from, it might have been the Hellfish but I don't think so, it might have just been one of Grandpa's meandering anecdotes that went nowhere. It might have been the one about wearing onions in your belt (as was the style of the time).

I can't answer my own bloody question.

Ach, I'm bad at this.
