I think that's the episode when Burns goes bankrupt because all his advisers are spineless yes men. So he hires Lisa to help him rebuild his empire - culminating in the Little Lisa recycling plant that strips the ocean of all its wildlife.
The best bit is Homer's reaction at the end when Lisa refuses that cheque.

The best bit of that episode is where he looks at the ticker and sees the depression hit in 1929.
