Those were my thoughts too. Looks bloody good having Merrett, Adams (who was in my side since Jan until he got injured), Macrae, Walsh, Cogs and TT as my midfield, gotta say
I’ve come around today to 4 premium mids. Original had 3 and Rowell but decided to get Rowell up to Macrae via Gawn down to Witts. Team feels stronger overall

Your midfield even better still. Love it

Macrae and Witts seems a lot safer IMO - good choice

Looks even better...would be amazing if I actually took this in to the season proper:

It's nice to dream! Gulden and Downie are going to be two of the best rookies this year

I reckon Powell 'll be the best. Kid is a fantasy god.

A lot on the Hawks board don't think Downie's spot is guaranteed at all, given how many they have to come back from injury - Titch, Wingard, Breust, Scrimshaw returning moving Day up to the wing, Morrison moving to the wing once JOM, Titch and Wingard return etc.

Gulden should be picked, but by no means a lock either. Still agree that he'll be very, very good if he keeps his spot. Reckon Bergman, Rowe, Highmore and Warner all could be very solid too

Hey kings and queens. Thoughts on witts and nank as a ruck combo?
Currently running Grundy and witts. But slowly getting scared of the Grundy, Cameron, cox setup they tried pushing

Interesting one I've been playing around with given the Adams report today (absolutely blitzed it) -

Taylor Adams, Dusty, Rowe and Jordon

vs

Rowell, Dunkley, T. Atkins and Downie

??

Adams is fraught with danger... it’s one thing picking a player with no injury history who has had an interrupted pre season, but picking a fully priced expensive bloke with plenty of injury history AND an interrupted pre season? I just couldn’t do it. He’s basically a shoo-in to miss games at some point, and that’s a headache you don’t need given that it seems we’ll have more than enough selection headaches this year as it is. There are equally good picks around the same price who come with less injury risk. Pick at your peril...

Oh there's pretty much no chance I pick him, it was just nice to see if I could squeeze him, and see how awesome it looked. Have already toyed with the idea of just lowering him to Dunks, and giving myself a midfield link. Was nice for the 10 minutes he was in, haha

Grundy took 21 hit outs while Cox and Cameron combined for 5. Wouldn't be too stressed. Not to mention the fact that Cameron looks unlikely to play Round 1 anyway

Nice, I too am loving how my team looks with Dunks in the midfield. I’m actually really keen on a lot of the same mids as you this year - Merrett, Macrae, Taranto and Dunkley are all in my side at the moment and aren’t going anywhere. Walsh and Cogs have both been there for significant portions of the PS but aren’t there currently. Cogs is first back in if I can find the room

Okay everybody, scratch what I said about Coniglio... he’s coming nowhere near my team. Just watched the first episode of Making their Mark and sheesh that first GWS scene with Cogs and that leap of faith statue?? 🤦‍♂️ Bloody hell no wonder he got dropped. Can’t be having that sort of leadership anywhere near my team :drunk:

So Tom Browne (yes I know) is reporting that he has "the real story on Danger's groin" on tonights news or some such BS!!

Just watched it then - was just saying that he was actually hampered all of last year, and thats why he played a lot more forward. Have taken the off-season to get him completely right, and is fit and firing. Not bad to finish Top 5 in our B+F, and make AA when you're injured for a whole season

If he averaged 102 playing a lot forward and with groin issues, you’d have to think he’s going 110 again this year

Plz explain?

Plz explain?

Was tongue in cheek (mostly). There’s a scene close to the start where Cogs does a team exercise and gets this cheesy leap of faith statue out to signify the past, the present and the season ahead. Hard to really do it justice in words but it looked like he’d done a $59.95 leadership course at the nearest dodgy business college then come back to the team to try out what he’d learnt:oops:

Other than that it’s a pretty good watch though; recommended.

I'm trying to get away with not selecting him. Higher priced and isn't a massive accumulator

Really torn about this. He's basically a half-back with OK JS priced at 260k. His 57 on the weekend wasn't bad considering there were 0 marks, which presumably won't keep on happening. I think if you've got him as a midfield rook there are plenty of other options, but I've got him as a F5 and am not as confident about running Warner+Rowe (or some other combo of rooks) in those positions.

No Lloyd last week though. I thought Rowe looked very good in his game. High JS has me locking him in. Warner is the one. If Warner isn’t named then it’s a no brainer to move him on for Campbell. But I thought Warner looked very good. Did some classy things and ran hard

Are we coughing up for Campbell for his job security?

Finding it harder and harder to start with him. He’s nearly at a Walsh/Rowell price for their debut seasons and he’s obviously nowhere near their level (scoring wise at the very least). He also has Brisbane first up and they don’t exactly leak points, especially to defensive distributors. I could see him scoring 40-something in his first game and a few 60s here and there afterwards and really struggling to generate significant cash.

Watch him completely prove me wrong now! But that’s my gut feel.

Yeah, I guess also that hour after the North v Port teams are named and before the Swans match can tell you whether Bergman can play too.
