Re: Official GVFL thread

If they can't land a high profile coach then perhaps Kirby is an ok plan B.

What are the chances of former dogs returning with Serra or Kirby as coach? I'm talking about guys like Warnett, Pollard, Roberts, Wellington(x2), Loughnan etc...

worth chasing all the others but why waste your time on this one?

The odd one out I know. But I thought he'd like to see someone talking about him.

Thanks THF my jaw is getting saw from me talking about myself to much im glad you have taken over! haha
Maybe it could be a Kirby + Wellington double over at the kennel in "09". I cant see Linc coming back and just playing, i think he is keen on coaching for a few more years to come. Polly was close to heading back to Tat this year but since Leeroy got the coaching job at Toc he will stay. Purcey Roberts wouldnt play GV footy for any other club so there is always a chance he would be back at Tat. Leeroy will be heading North after this season so he is the only one i can rule out.

Serra is coach of Tat

Re: Official GVFL thread

Read my other post newbie. I never said I knew their circumstances. I just used their club names for the purposes of giving examples.
Your a real toss bag Brad!
Next time I present an argument Ill be sure to make a heap of crap up too.
Im not sure if they did in the past but Id be confident in knowing that everyone knows all you present to this forum is dribble!
Start presenting some real facts or some posts with a bit of substance behind them.
I have no problem with you dissagreeing with me as Im sure that one day I may be wrong, but until then present some truth behind your arguments.
Also Brad please dont be scared to admit it when your wrong. Your starting to look very shallow.

Wellington and Kirby... Both very good footballers any team would like to have but I don't like the idea of co-coaches. I'd rather see one person in control. Then again if it means getting both players back then Tat would be foolish not to consider it. If Tat could bring back those two, Roberts and Keep Little they would have the core of a good side to build on.

Unlikely to keep Little - His phone's running hot.

All of these players were available except Little in 06 i think and still won only one game

Re: Official GVFL thread

THE MALCOLM NOBLE TIMELINE
November 3, 2006: Malcolm Noble says he's under no illusions to the massive task facing him following his appointment as coach of Tatura for two seasons. After more than 90 senior games with Norwood in the SANFL, he takes the reins from Travis Ryan, who spent two years in charge.
March 1, 2007: Noble says supporters seem to have deserted Tatura Football Club in its hour of need.
The Bulldogs held an information night, and Noble said: ``There were only about 50 people there and most of those were players, the lack of community support was very disappointing from my perspective.''
March 13, 2007: Noble reacts swiftly to quash speculation he has walked out on the club.
April 10, 2007: Young player Tim Lanyon is told his services were no longer required at Tatura Park following his decision to play a practice match for Wodonga during the pre-season.
``I don't think he was open and honest with us. The door wouldn't have been closed if he admitted he'd made a mistake,'' Noble said.
April 16, 2007: Noble receives a rude introduction to Goulburn Valley Football League with a 165-point loss against Seymour.
May 14, 2007: Tatura fans invade the ground as the Bulldogs win their first match in 307 days, beating Mansfield by 19 points.
May 21, 2007 ``We're not up to GVFL standard,'' Noble says after a 125-point flogging at the hands of Echuca.
May, 31: Noble demands changes to the club's current set-up at a meeting with the Bulldogs.
``We want to set up a football committee to work under the board, which deals with footy matters, recruitment, player welfare, to get it happening,'' Noble said.
June 6, 2007: Noble says he could be forced to quit the Bulldogs' top job within days after being unable to secure full-time employment in the Goulburn Valley.
``It's not a football issue,'' Noble said.
``Yes, I'm happy to stay on as coach of Tatura Football Club, but for five months I haven't been able to find employment to complement my football job.''
July 9 2007: Tatura is held to one point against Shepparton Swans _ the league's lowest score since 1963 _ at Princess Park.
September 25, 2007: Noble says Tatura Football Club needs as many as 15 players to strengthen its list for next season.
October 30, 2007: ``Rest assured that we are leaving no stone unturned. Neither I, nor the board are prepared to accept another year like last year,'' Noble tells supporters.
Wednesday, January 30: Noble and club part ways

Serra signs for 2
Tatura premiership player Paul Serra last night agreed to a two-year coaching appointment with the Bulldogs, a day after the club and Malcolm Noble parted company.
The club has moved swiftly to announce a replacement for Noble whose contract was terminated at lunchtime on Wednesday.
Noble's departure after just one year in the job was said to be a mutual decision.
Serra was a decorated senior player of the club, has coached the Bulldogs under-18s for the past four years and has also been a senior assistant coach for two seasons.
He was seen by many as a ready-made replacement and the obvious leading candidate for the job.
Serra - who hails from a proud Tatura football family - represented the Goulburn Valley Football League as a player and quickly won huge respect as a coach. He led the league's under-18 team last year.
Bulldogs president Denis Flett issued a statement late last night confirming Serra's appointment.
"Paul Serra is a Tatura Bulldog through and through and is ready to coach at senior level," Flett said.
"He has the experience, knowledge, skills and ability needed to develop our playing list and unite the club.
"He will hit the ground running."
Serra said he believed he had completed a solid coaching apprenticeship.
"I am prepared for the challenge of improving the competitiveness of our senior footy team," he said.
"In particular, I look forward to helping players that I have coached at youth level develop into regular senior players."
Serra's immediate priorities are to strengthen the playing list through recruitment and the retention of players and to build his support team.
"We need players on the track in numbers on a regular basis to get prepared for the rigours of senior GVFL football" he said.

Re: Official GVFL thread

If thats true, Brad and Garbage Gob would be best to stay away from Tatura as there seems to be plenty of morons there already.

Is Sutherland still playing at Swans?
After his effort in last years GF it might be best for them to get a ruckman who can run faster than my Nanna.

Whats happening at Echuca things seem to have gone a bit quiet?
Has all the hype of recruits fallen through?

Good one! have a look at the results and see who the swans BOG was, good to see your up with it.

I do agree with you about echuca tho.

Dont really care who was given BOG bud. you really shouldnt assess performance on someone elses oppinion. Im goining on what I saw and the big fella was way too slow and also droped too many marks. It may have been a diferent result if the Swans had a faster ruckman who held onto the ball when he got his hands on it. Dont get me wrong he has been a good player over the years (for a meat axe) but after what I saw last year, his time may be up.
IMO
(Swans should have done a fair bit more when it came to Scanlon as well)

your right there i totally agree. Although in saying that he only has one functioning lung and is fitter than any other bloke i've seen with two. with big suds i think they'll use him more up forward as he will still take one of there best defenders. would look good sitting in the goal square i think.

True, he would be very good deep in the foward line alongside of someone with some real toe. But will the big man settle into a position where he will not be so involved in the play?

Re: Official GVFL thread

Good to see Serra get the coaching gig at Tatura, probably better to have someone who knows the club and supporters than an outsider at least then he will have the full support of all involved. Cant help to think though how differently things may have been in if Moose had of stayed in the job.

Anyway good luck to the club and the rest of you for the coming year :thumbsu:

Geez, I'm going to lose a lot of sleep over this, Andrew.

I don't believe that anything I have written is incorrect, so why should I admit it? How is that shallow?

"I'm sure that one day I may be wrong"

How arrogant can one person get?

Judging from your other violent and abusive posts (which is frighteningly often), there's something wrong with you. You just don't fit into society do you?

Seek help Andrew, it's never too late.

Re: Official GVFL thread

I'm pretty sure the problem in 06 more more to do with a lack of depth. They had several really good players but not a lot of "second tier" players. Some players who weren't considered in previous seasons became regulars.

Also, Last years thirds side finnished on top of the ladder so they have some talented kids coming through this time around.

"Not upset at all. I just think your logic is hilarious.

Allow me to give you some examples:

1. Maragatang don't pay any players, except for one bloke who lives an hour away. They decide to give him $30 for petrol money. Guess what? They are buying flags!

2. Inverloch pays all their players $40 per game. The players usually pay it back to the club over the bar anyway. Guess what? They are buying flags!

3. Portland decides to throw a testimonial for a 300 gamer. He has never taken a cent in his life and no one else in the team gets paid. But guess what? They are buying flags!"

Im fairly sure I dont need to explain that monumental quote.

When someone (other than you Brad) makes a point that prooves me to be wrong I'll admit it. I promis.

Harden up a bit Brad. Im sorry if i may have made you feel a little scared in this some what violent world. But I am sure not too many people are going to be calling their mothers over my posts (but that Girly Girly fella might have a little cry cry), so read it the way I tell it cause its the way I see it.

Try half a bottle of Vodka before you go to bed. It wont give you too much of a hang over (cause I know your a little soft) the next morning and Im fairly sure you lack a bit of female (well you know what I mean) to help you sleep.

And Brad, you can call me Andy. I like you, although you seem to post quite a bit of crap you are entertaining.

And Brad, incase you havent realised Ive color coaded my responce to your incietfull post. Also Brad please dont worry about my spelling as numbers put $$ in the bank not words (dont listen to those hippie authers). But I do know that you wouldnt stoop so low as to question my spelling in my posts and not my thoughts!

Re: Official GVFL thread

Does Paul Serra still play?
Does he have a brother who was (might still be) a bit of a muscle man?
Does he still play too?
Both would be getting long in the teeth.
Paul is "Hair"?
Gun full back!
