Re: Official GVFL thread

Malcolm Noble seems even less likely to remain in Tatura, as of yesterday he was no longer managing the Sportspower shop in Tatura.

Rumours suggesting he is moving on seem to be gaining strength

As of lunch time today Malcolm Noble and the Tatura Football Club parted ways by mutual consent.

Tatura officials were meeting with a potential candidate for the coaching position this evening.

Re: Official GVFL thread

Makes me think with Singh's arrival at Ky and Noble's departure from Tat, who has been the worst recruit in the GVFL in recent history?

Re: Official GVFL thread

.

Don't like the chances of the club retaining Timmy Little. Watch this space a ruckman might be up for grabs fellas.

The word out of tat is that Noble wasn't too popular with some players. His departure may help with retaining and recruiting players if this is true.

You maybe right doona both these guys had nothing to work with, perhaps they should look higher up didnt they go from in the black to -$70000 in the red how can a club attrack players when its common knowledge they are in big strife, whats happening higher up than the coaches

No idea about any of that clean mits - from afar I was of the opinion a popular local fella was keen to go round again in the job but was overlooked . . . . was that right?

Re: Official GVFL thread

Euroa are holding a night series with Benalla, Wangaratta Rovers, North Heidelberg, Bundoora and Vermont all involved. Starting the first weekend in March.

I'd be suprised if anyone gets near Vermont, easily the best outfit I've played against would beat every team in the GV comfortably I'd reckon

I don't think he would leave as he's signed for season 2008.
Tat wouldn't have to clear him to another team in this league if they didn't want to.
All he could do is move to another league and Tat wouldn't be able to stop him.

Also i can see why Noble left, they got him a job at a sports store??? what the?

He will be living in Alice by the middle of the month. He has got very high paying job as well as a coaching position in the Alice league i hear

Re: Official GVFL thread

I hear the new coach of Tat next year will be Paul Serra - 3rds coach from last year, has agreed to do it for just next year! plus have already told Paul Kirby the job is his in 09 if he wants it.

Re: Official GVFL thread

The mail i have been given is that they are $70000 in the rears but they have got $130000 in the budget to spend on players this year.
If thats true, Brad and Garbage Gob would be best to stay away from Tatura as there seems to be plenty of morons there already.

Is Sutherland still playing at Swans?
After his effort in last years GF it might be best for them to get a ruckman who can run faster than my Nanna.

Whats happening at Echuca things seem to have gone a bit quiet?
Has all the hype of recruits fallen through?

If Tatura wants to get back in the mix of finals action i think they have to recruit a high profile coach, they need a draw card!

Are Euroa's lights good enough for a night series?
Why would Benalla not be holding their own night series?

Don't know if there are many of those types about this time of the year toquick. Paul Serra seems like a good choice... Who do you think they should go after?

Re: Official GVFL thread

Bal tolls for Bombers
Balraj Singh says he will join Kyabram this season in a major recruiting coup for the recent cellar-dwelling club.
The prolific forward kicked 154 majors in his two years with fellow Goulburn Valley Football League club Mooroopna.

He will be a handy acquisition to a Bombers side that managed to post only two victories last season and scored the second least points in the competition.

Singh last week signalled his intentions to return to the area after spending last year with Balranald in Central Murray Football League.

``Last week I thought about it and was sure I wasn't going back to Balranald, it's just too far to travel,'' the 25-year-old said.

Singh said he approached his former club Mooroopna to inquire about rejoining it, but was told it didn't want his services.

``I tried to do the right thing by Mooroopna and asked them if they would like to have me back,'' Singh said.

``They said I didn't fit in with their budget, I kicked 91 goals in a season for them so I thought they could have done with me but there's no hard feelings.''

Kyabram expressed some interest in recruiting Singh and after a visit from club president Peter Croxford the deal was sealed.

``Peter came to my house in Melbourne last week and we had a chat and it's all worked out, now I just need to get the clearance forms sorted out.

``I'm looking forward to making a fresh start in the area.''

Singh, the first Indian ever to be drafted by an AFL club when he was selected by Adelaide with pick 79 in the 1999 draft, is looking forward to being a key part of Kyabram's attack.

``Playing in the forward line with Paul Newman will make our forward line quite potent,'' Singh said.

``I think the plan will be to play him at centre half-forward and myself out of the square and provided we can get the ball down there I think we will kick some good scores.''

Singh said he was excited at the prospect of playing under former Rochester and first-year Kyabram coach David Williams.

I agree that it is a bit past finding that type of coach this year but im thinking for season "09".Paul Kirby was mentioned by someone as already having the job offered to him for "09" as much as he is a great player,a good bloke and a good mate of mine i just dont think he will have enough pull to attract players. Never know though, he might be able to bring a few back from Wang with him.....

If they can't land a high profile coach then perhaps Kirby is an ok plan B.

What are the chances of former dogs returning with Serra or Kirby as coach? I'm talking about guys like Warnett, Pollard, Roberts, Wellington(x2), Loughnan etc...
