I watched, but I was hardly excited about it pre-match. Its hard to gee up about it when the World Cup is on.

I watched SOO2 in preference to Greece yesterday! :p I do love the World Cup, though. Really, youse guys probably have no idea the frenzy all of England is working itself into in readiness for tonight's game against Algeria. Made even better, of course, by France losing dismally last night. :p

Could someone pls post the ratings Australia wide?

If the nos. are down a bit, the WC could have something to do with it.

Anyone else been watching the WC?

I have and its been a tournament fully of surprises and disappointment for the SoccerRoos.

My other team, Germany, are doing fine...so happy with that, but I'll be cheering for the NewZealanders tonight and hope they can make it through to the next Group.

Nine hates RL. Hey Hey won't be rested for the third Origin.

So in VIC, SA, WA the third Origin match will be shown after Hey Hey (at least 9:30pm, probably later since it often runs late).

In NSW, QLD, NT, ACT it will be shown as normal. Hey Hey will be shown at 10:30pm in these states.

Ah, thanks. Of course we don't see much Aussie TV here, except Kath and Kim (pretty popular, but leaves me stony-faced). Oh, and we get the Flight of the Conchords*, which is a big hit with critics and public, and again, only mildly amusing as far as I'm concerned.

Did you get the BBC show Being Human? I really liked that, and it's set fairly near where I live. Not quite a comedy, though.

* I realise they're Kiwis.

No, clearly I don't understand. And forgive me if I don't have the Australian TV schedules at my fingertips either.

But then again, I don't understand how this talkboard, which was friendly and interesting when I first started posting on it not so long ago, now contains nothing but schoolboy squabbles about the bloody Melbourne Storm and a SoO series in which NSW have had a bit of a tanking. Do you realise what children you appear to be, to someone looking in from the outside, FFS?

I realise passions run high, of course. But the cheap slanging matches going on that pervade every thread have pushed all talk of the game we profess to love right out of the window.

I doubt it's coincidence that the number of posts on all threads seems to have dropped off drastically lately. Doubtless other posters are voting with their feet, or waiting until people start talking about rugby league matches again.

Vics love their sport and Melbourne is the sporting capital of Australia.

The internet is a wonderful thing. I almost handed it to you with the link to hey hey.

I don't think I've participated much in the SOO thread, but yes, passions run high when it comes to Origin. Rugby league people in this country are often bagged about a lack of passion for their code.

As for the Storm, I can see why it's ended up as a bit of a slanging match. People have very strong opinions on it. A strong debate is healthy, although there is no need for name calling.

Well, the major issues of the day still are, SOO and the Melbourne Storm salary cap rort, so they continue to remain a strong talking point brushing them aside wont make them go away.
