Hey guys, long time admirer of this board but technologically challenged myself.
I'm posting on behalf of AFFL, the most in depth and competitive AFL management game on the website. We are in the market for a new banner, as the current one is, well, it's bland:
We are hoping that you guys here at the footy design board could whip as up something new. The only guidelines are that the name 'AFFL' must be in the banner, and that the banner itself stays the same size. In the past, we've had cropped images of players (Ablett, Fyfe, Pendlebury etc) on the above background next to the AFFL text.
Anyone is welcome to whip something up, and the site and I will decide on what we like the best. Winner will be credited for their work course.

You also have the license to be creative, maybe a logo or a different banner design altogether.

Anybody with photoshop skills wanna have a crack at my take on the club logo?
• Core of the logo is a simple black shield with the red sash.
• The top left black section features the red heritage logo (EFC)
• The bottom right features a simple, red ‘1871’
• Above the logo is ESSENDON Football Club is an appropriate font
• Below is “Suaviter in modo, fortiter in re”, also in appropriate font

Not sure about the writing... is there anyway to make it more... I dunno... integrated? Looks like an afterthought and not really part of it.
(That's not a commentary on you, more my thoughts on my idea).
I'd make the sash thinner and steeper, more like the jumper.
And I prefer this logo, but that's just personal preference.
