What about predictions for the Grand Final and Baker Medallist?

Premiers: Benalla (will learn from last year and cap off a dream season)
Runners Up: Milawa
Baker Medallist: Dan McLaughlin (Mr. Professional just keeps getting the ball).
Headline Of The Year: GUNS Pople inducted into O&KFL Hall Of Fame.

Baker medal re named the GUNS stamp of approval......
Still awaiting the return of the great man...WTFIH....

If Nathan Waites injury is as bad as what it sounds, it might hurt Moyhu a bit in the run towards the finals....Not sure about their last few games but I know we play them in 3 weeks....

Its very hard to rate sides at the moment. The competition is so one sided the only real indication you can get is when good sides play each other, Has finals venues been discussed yet does any one know???

Totally agree gameon!! looking over the thirds scores there competition is more one sided.. I cant see blacks 3rds being beaten and will possibly win the grand final by 100 points!!!

Don't know about 100 points KIA.

Bright only had 15 players listed on the weekend - I assume because of school holidays - and at least four of them were under 16 kids.

But yeah, Blacks could well win every game.

Pretty sure the team sheet they gave us had about 20 on it including permit players......I'm sure our 3rds coach said both clubs had 18 on the ground...:rolleyes:

Numbers aren't their issue, quality is.....Prior to the BDFL clubs coming into the league I think it was tatong who were in the same boat, they've almost managed to turn it around and so will Swanpool....As for the VCFL, well, the jury is still out on them. They have a lot to answer for in not being pro active in a lot of areas. They waited for the sky to start to fall in before they decided they should be seen to do something...
Wonder if it would be the end of the world if Swampool and Tatong did merge. In the Hume league Brock and Burrum weren't much better than Upper Murray sides before their merger, while Rand and Walbundrie were both battling for numbers. Since their merger both clubs are flourishing, if i were the VCFL i'd also have concerns over Wodonga Saints long term viability.

How did Moyhu's new ruckman go at the weekend???

Tips for Round 13

Whorouly by 20 points over King Valley
Moyhu by 50 points over Greta
Milawa by 50 points over Nth Wang
All Blacks by 75 points over Doon
Glenrowan by 1 point over Bright
G'Bat by 10 goals over Swannie
Tarrawingee by 50 points over Tatong

Interesting model for the thirds competition for the Ovens & King for next year with only 6 sides in the competition. 3 sides based within Wangaratta
(Milawa/Whorouly, King Valley/Greta/Glenrowan, North Wang/Tarra), 1 Alpine (Alpine eagles), 1 Benalla based (All Blacks/G'Bat/Tatong) and 1 high country (Doon/Swanpool).
Any other clubs have any thoughts pro or con this model.

Is that a league proposal or is it just an idea?

It's ridiculous that they wanna make blacks combine with those other clubs!! If anything tatong/gbat/Swanshit should make a 3rds
Side between the 3 teams. What happened when for instance blacks have 25 players like they do now plus say 10 players from g bat and ten from tatong come finals who gets left upset and not get picked its a stupid idea and I hope that it is only a proposal and not going ahead?????

Whlist it's only a model/proposal, the document states that clubs can comment within 2 weeks of the meeting Mon night...... BUT...That is basically the way that it will stay...

Kids will no longer be aligned with their club but will become the "property" of the league and will represent an area, not a club/clubs...Different uniforms and names. So the Benalla based team will be given a name represnting the area.

More absolute dictatorship from the VCFL and the league.........Time to do away with the board, go back to delegates and get out of the N E Hub....

Terrible If it happens slim, I can guarantee that most players will either stay in a division or go to the gv, So all blacks won't have a 3rds that follow there club is that right slim?? Personally I think the ovens and king league is going Down hill!! To many teams and not enough players!!! How many supporters you reckon you will loose if you havent got a 3rds slim?

Not so much supporters but families that come to the club and form part of your future.......

Yep - that sums it up. We need to face the reality there are less people living in the smaller towns these days. I'd prefer a few of the clubs merge and field 3 strong teams each week, rather than no thirds and often not even a full reserves team as some clubs are doing currently.

Hope yous have a strong voice in this slim, there's a lot of talent amongst your thirds and if they stick by the club there will be a very bright future!!

It appears the big announcement @ Whorouly didn't inspire them to the win!!

Slim- a goal-fest in your game. Much closer then I thought would be.

yeah EB, they were fantastic with their use of the footy all day and we missed afew easy ones and gave them about 4-5 through stupidity...But take nothing away from them, they stormed home.....A really, really tough physical game, easily the toughest game we've played this year.....They got to wihin a point with about 3 mins to go and looked like going on with it.........Oh and to top it off we had 3, yes 3, bloody cap wearers all of whom wanted to be stand out more than the others :D.

As I said earlier GO the decision has already been made, all clubs can do is comment.......Or perhaps call for a special meeting to get rid of the board, get out of the NE Hub, the cost to clubs is far too great, and revert to a delegate system.....

As far as I can tell there are no Major leagues affiliated with any of the Hubs around the state...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Couple of upsets here with the valley getting the win and bright getting over glenrowan!

Does anyone know if any radio stations cover the ovens and king??? When do we find out the finals venues for this year??

I'm not sure about the first week of finals GO - think that all depends on who is playing and they will then decide - but most likely Tarra and Benalla for certain and then 2 other grounds close by!
Have heard on good authority that week two and three of finals will be - Saturday @ Tarra and Sunday @ Moyhu. Nth Wang has been dropped from big finals due to ground conditions (football & netball). Moyhu has been added because of the good ground conditions & facilities

Oak FM 101.3 does a live broadcast of the O&K grand final, with some great special comments:D

Other than that you'll get the occasional reports during their O&M coverage.
