BK, heard from a couple sources today Milawa were missing a few on Sat thus the reason that you guys got over them....I looked at their side and could only see Jethro and Pelly missing......Perhaps it was the usual excuses for when ever they lose.....
Milawa arnt that good I don't think, few injurys and they are stuffed which showed Saturday..

Yeah those two and of course Gardner were the only ones I am aware of. I wouldn't say that is the reason we ran over them though. They still had a very strong side in and it was pretty much goal for goal for three and a half quarters.

Regarding the ground, it is rock hard at the moment. Can't see it getting better before finals. I'd suggest that they get the size of the center circle sorted out before then too. I heard players from both sides complaining about it. Looked way too small.

i heard a little whisper that after Saturdays game Nth Wang have their players review at the clubrooms. Richie Findlay is apparently doing a rendition of Tom Jones - Burning Down the House and i think Steery is doing 3am by Matchbox 20 dedicated to Frankie Eames

Once again you've shown your class......Do you have NO respect for the poor old bloke that was the victim of Findlay and his mates actions......As for the Steery remark...all's fair..

Well BK I suppose a if you're spending a squillion to buy a flag then there wouldn't be much left over to buy 5 mtrs of string....Surely there's enough old cockies out there to donate a few mtrs of used bailing twine so they can make a circle the right size....or has that been sold to pay the bills...

You couldn't be serious a very low blow SS caught up with this fellow over weekend good bloke! He's being through enough knowing he stuffed up! Without people on here not able to stick to footy talk & bring up shit from he's past you must be jealous of him or Nth Wang, can't think before you talk or just a magot of a person.

Come on everyone talk footy without the jealousy and bitchen happens every year!

Yep and I'm sure ya's got on like a house on fire hopper but I guess you haven't spoken to the bloke who got petrol and a match thrown on him.

But getting back to Footy talk what does everyone think about the 3rds comp next year. With Bright being a chance to leave and leaving 4 teams it will be pretty much stuffed. I think it's time to bring back the under 17's in the wang jnr league. There can be O&k clubs fielding teams like there is now or stand alone teams if clubs can get numbers. I say this because i think part of the problem is kids don't want to get up early and travel. Plus kids work more on weekends now days and prefer the earn cash than running around and the chance of getting injured

Mainly what i was thinking was having a VFL style of league (with AFL reserves). They can have Friday night matches (maggies and rovers ground) and saturday games (O&K grounds same as now) and sundays. You can push games out in the afternoons in town.

It's just an idea and I know there seems to be stuff all kids around but something has to be done to keep kids interested in the game. If the this continues it may affect the reserves I know a few clubs are struggling in the magoo's this year.

Has anyone else got any ideas?

One idea I have heard is that the AFL may restructure leagues due to dwindling major major league reserves numbers and less players also in minor league clubs. One option could be remove reserves from Major leagues and align Minor league team/s to each major league club. The major league clubs will then have seniors and an older U/19 comp and minor league clubs would have Seniors, Reserves, U/17.

Example in the Wang/Benalla area Major league clubs could be aligned as:
Benalla - All Blacks, Greta, Goorambat.
Mansfield - Bonnie Doon, Tatong, Swanpool.
Euroa - Violet Town, Avenel, Longwood.
Wang Magpies - Glenrowan, Moyhu, King Valley.
Wang Rovers - North Wang, Tarra, Milawa.
Myrtleford - Beechworth, Bright, Whorouly.

eg players who are not selected to play seniors with Benalla, would not play Benalla Reserves but play with the minor league club they are nominated to. So less pressure on all clubs as major leagues dont have to scratch up players for ressies and the minor leagues get more adult players to choose for their seniors and reserves.

Wont happen !!! I'm 100% sure the O & M wont let it, while good for the minor leagues there is no upside for the major league, for e.g less gate takings, and you can see how the afl / vfl experment is working, the afl clubs are all seemingly going back to having a stand alone reserves.

Agree the major leagues wont give up the gate
Maybe change the WJFL so it stops at U15 and then have the O&K set at U18 so 16,17 year olds run around and then the Majors leagues set at U21 anyone good enough to play up from u18 to u 21 can.
They changed the comp in the YVMDFL to under 21's for their thirds and all the U17's were in the junior comp

Not just the O&m you're dealimg with.....Got the GV involved as well.....As we know the Major leagues tend to run their own race....

Bk, coulda sworn I saw someone moving the goal post yesty everytime we were having a shot...we couldn't buy one..
Yeah I'd like to say our backline pressure was the cause of that, but some very easy shots were missed. You guys really should've smashed us, were better all over the ground but just couldn't convert. If they continue playing like that but put the ball through the big sticks more often, I'd expect them to cause some headaches in the finals. Should be a cracker this week against the Valley.

That's what I heard....Pretty good source too...But I've been wrong before......By the way GO how do you spell Tungamah....
Slim I could tell you more football gossip and news than you could poke a stick at it would make you hard in the pants, why on the subject welshy back to Moyhu next year there's one for you ;)

May be some conditions attached ;)...On the subject of Moyhu, I did hear that a major league club has been persueing one of their on ball players for next year as well....

BK, bad news about Dawesy, gunna leave a big hole up forward and with Razza away for a couple of weeks again on top of the other injuries you have a tough couple of weeks ahead.

Yeah we really missed the big target up forward on the weekend slim. I think you said awhile back that he'd be a key to our finals campaign, and it will definitely hurt us. Jenvey is a big loss as well. He has really stepped up this year and has provided us a good option across half forward. We do have a bit of depth though, so hopefully the other blokes can step up.
