Looking at the clearances, it would appear the CLARENCE OHA alliance has fallen over. Cancelling all their listed players clearances. I would have thought, OHA was a better proposition than LINDISFARNE for them.

I dont think any of them have played at OHA, as I have not seen them in the Mercury teams, but I am not 100% sure.
I'm pretty sure none have played at OHA, Jack Boon has played for Hutchins.

Thought Hutchins v OHA would have been a bit closer, should we give OHA the flag now? Looking pretty strong.

None have played a game. From what i've heard Lindisfarne are paying the listed players to play where as OHA wouldn't.

Also OHA asked the listed players to train on the Thursday night before each game they would be playing with the club and from what i gather they refused

I thought that the clubs the players were allocated to were not to pay these players,so as to avoid a bidding war for there services.

So none actually played OHA (that were listed) is what im gathering?
So that wouldn't affect OHA at all then?
Are we just talking bout the allaince between OHA & Clarence or will BOON not be allowed to play at Hutchins anymore? Plus Micth BAKER was alligned with RICHMOND?

What would be a Premiership Betting Market on the Old Scholars in the opinion of you guys who follow the comp closer than I do?

Ships would have to be short wouldn't they?

Dosa - I'm with everyone else on here - what has happened to them?

If they lost to Channel at North Hobart, could they possibly lose to them too at Snug and claim the spoon?!

Noticed Richmond beat DOSA on the weekend by 17.20 - could have been even more horrendous has Richmond been a bit more accurate!

I was told today it is only the OHA CLARENCE alliance, and also that none of the Clarence players have played at OHA, all the other players would play at the respective clubs nominated.

So what everyone's thoughts of the season so far? Everybody has played each other once.
Are OHA that good?
Are DOSA that bad to be on the bottom?
Will Channel win another game somewhere?
Which players are going real well?
Who's left a club or who's coming back? Any bad injuries?

Yes, OHA are that good from what I have seen (mind you, have only seen 3 of the six games). They appear to be very fit and have multiple options. That appears to be the downfall of other clubs - an unhealthy reliance on too few. Richmond are the sleeper.....as usual, they get better as the season goes on (and they throw around $$ to attract disgruntled players from other clubs before clearances close off).

DOSA at full strength are more than competitive, but a couple of injuries will see them struggle.

Channel will win a couple more games you'd think.

The evergreen Scott McCallum has been a revelation up foward. Apparently fancies himself to win the goal kicking.

And Arigold's tipping is not too flash....kiss-of-death material! :D

Kiss-of-death.. My tips aren't that bad, surley! Better than 50% i think? Ha!

It's a big turn around by OHA since last year given they finish outside the 4 & the don't have too many new players that weren't there last year.
HUTCHINS are still the top side given the recruits they've picked up!
RICHMOND, I agree on that you can't pick how they are really going as they'll pick some players up somewhere. When is the transfer/clearance period over??
ST VIRGILS are still are very dangerous side, but rely too much Burdon, Britten, Parker and Collis.
UNIVERSITY are in the same boat as ST VIRGILS. Rely too much on GILMOUR, BURGESS etc... They'll take some big scalps but will drop a game or 2 they shouldn't.
CHANNEL, i hope they win another game. They have improved compared to the previous 2 years.
DOSA, they'll get off the bottom (It'd be good if they didn't). Inconsistent performances will be the issue.

ROUND 8 TIPS

OHA v ST VIRGILS - OHA 1's & 2's
RICHMOND v HUTCHINS - HUTCHINS 1's & RICHMOND 2's
CHANNEL v UNIVERSITY - UNIVERSITY 1's & CHANNEL 2's
