Rumour Ollie Wines - will he go or will he stay?

Crows intentionally go to a resort to be able to train their returning interstate players, instead of self isolating like everyone else in the league= no suspension to players

Wines and Zerk-Thatcher have minor infringements are both likely to be suspended what a joke

But the AFL told the players that they would come down hard in future, so they were warned.
Absolutely no sympathy.

They literally warned clubs about how hard the sanctions would be multiple times before the crows broke the rules, if Wines gets a suspension we should be demanding a please explain from the AFL as you why our player is being treated more harshly than the crows players for what was a far lesser breach.

Flouted makes it sound like he was wearing a t-shirt at the interview that said 'AFL Covid Rules Can Get ****ed'. Wines is either thick or suffering from amnesia but I don't think he was fronting a movement against AFL Covid protocols. ****ing journos.

Port Adelaide would be about as nervous as the Dalai Lama waiting to find out whether Wines gets an extra weeks recovery while a young kid gets a go or whether they can pick him for the showdown in a season that has already been mangled five ways from Sunday.

'the interview is was held outdoors' is a much better excuse than the Crow's 'everybody is doing it' so it would be a farce if he were not punished commensurately but you never know with the AFL.

How Ollie AND the team mates he lives with failed to click that this was a breach of protocol is the real mystery to me.

Camry Crows' players were also in breach of self isolation laws under the SA emergency management act. Far more serious than any AFL imposed restrictions.

Clearly Wines's defence should be that his cat was unwell and it was an honest mistake as he believed he had a SAPOL exemption.

Maybe suffering a Covid stress induced drink driving like temporary amnesia

I think the difference might be previously it was simply a warning, but by now players have gone through a proper 'induction/presentation' or whatever...hence the no excuses now.

Davies in that AFL article was fully on the AFL's side, saying Ollie made a clear mistake that breached the AFL's rules and that whatever punishment the AFL decides they'll own it.

Yeah, but they keep warning until it reaches a club/player they don't mind making the scapegoat for how serious they are about it all! With our 'suck it up and play nice' attitude from the club on almost everything the last few years, of course we're one of the easy targets.

What an idiot Ollie is. Definitely not captain material if I cannot understand simple instructions 😒

It's taken you THIS long to work out he's not captain material? That issue was settled the moment he had his water skiing accident. That he was named captain regardless of that incident only spoke more to the issues surrounding Hinkley and the footy dept than anything else.

The sooner we cash in on Ollie the better.

I'm hearing that Smithson is hiding in Boak's bin, waiting for him to bring it in.
News at 6.
That would be a clear breach. Bringing a goat lover on to your property in a wheelie bin. 2 weeks minimum.

And the Club???? Davies seemed at pains at the presser to explain that "we should have done better" regarding the incident, so that reflects poorly on all concerned here.
Time to start acting professionally here - this isn't the Border Districts Under 10's comp where somewhere remotely near enough is good enough.

Lol the AFL
