On the Couch - 2015

I'm as much a fan of Browny as anyone but that was a pile of crap. Having 3 oafs on the couch ruins the whole dynamic of the show.
Have to agree a 100% show was at its best with Healy an ex-coach and a journalist who could put two coherent words together.

IMO On the Couch Jumped the shark last year the constant clearing of the throat from Jason Dunstall is very grating to me also.

As a whole most of the shows on Foxtel have regreased or at best are treading water not a patch on the Footy Channel 2002 - 2006

Seeing Mike's highlight reel was a reminder that we'll never see anyone asking hard questions ever again.

I, too, have been racking my brains trying to think of a Mike replacement but struggle. Caro? Tim Lane? Dennis? I love Brownie but now OTC is just like any other footy show. The dynamic has changed for the worse.

I reckon Rohan Connelly would be ok... but he doesn't have a head for TV

I enjoy Dunstable and Brown. They are both smarter than they let on when it comes to analysis but they end up being all blokely blokey. Which is a shame.

Mike sheehan was hardly a sex bomb to be fair
True, but he just looked like an elder journo

Rohan looks like he has had his head panel beaten a few times.

I reckon he could be good though, good knowledge, not afraid to go hard if need be

Connolly actually might be a good one. Don't care about how he looks. They're not there to win a modelling contract and he's not hideous to the point of offputting.

The addition of Brown hasn't really worked. It now feels like an episode of Bloke's World.

JB goes alright, I don't think he cares that much about rubbing players the wrong way, he sort of looks like he'd welcome a beef and ask it to be sorted out with fisticuffs

Ever since someone on here mentioned his eye contact issues it is all i notice
WHAT THE **** IS HE LOOKING AT 90% OF THE TIME! !

On The Couch is great with Healy, Brown and Dunstall. Best panel ever.
Just good, solid footy chat with even greater focus than ever before on the "on field" action.
Three commentators who know their stuff. No idiot dragging down the discussion with banal comments

My favourite show by a long way

i think they have struck gold on the new panelist.

the worst was definately the roos/hird era.

Brown is like a younger version of Carey.

It's funny how much I agree with most of this thread - I went off the show a little last year, I was sad when Mike announced his retirement, I was flummoxed when Brown was announced as the replacement, I was at a loss to think of a journo with anywhere near the amount of respect that Mike has to replace him...

And after all that, I've found Brown to be a surprisingly great addition to the show. He's much smarter when it comes to footy than I thought, and he's obviously not afraid to voice his very strident opinions.

It's a very different show to what it was with Mike Sheehan because they don't have that journo to ask journo-focussed questions - but as an analytical footy show, it's back to being the best on tv (with a huge assist going to Nathan Buckley and Brendan Goddard dragging down 360).

I think I'll go back to thinking how out of place Dunstall is on the show, and how Brad Johnson or even Dermott would be a better a fit.
