ONE HD is only available on Foxtel to those with a cable connection. Those who receive it via satelite will not have it.
As for whether it is free for a limited time or forever .. it will always be free of charge as part of the new broadcast agreement allowing free to air commercial networks more than one channel.

I can get One SD over a $30 SD set top box connected to a TV thats older than me. Channel 12 should be One's SD channel, or at least thats what it is over here in Perth. Re-Scan your set top box, that should open up the channel.
one hd is channel 10, so im thinking its free
