He's been cooked for years
He seems to have been like that for a while now....gets sub-5 touches every game, and Dees fans just hope a couple of them are kicks for goal.
He's almost like a decoy to clear out the forward line for others.
Problem is that the others aren't kicking goals either.

North essentially got Stephenson for Brown.
Brown could have straightened up their forward line immensely taking the load off Larkey and probably improving the output of Zurhaar. Probably also meant they wouldn’t have been tempted to give up pick 19 for CCJ that year as well.
Don’t think Melbourne has played Brown correctly either. Play him as the lead up forward and take that responsibility off Fritsch which would make him more dangerous.
Melbourne supporters should be asking the question of why their forward line coach is still in that position with very little progress over the last 2 years.
You obviously haven't watched Ben Brown the last 2 years. He's horrible.

Yep I have. He’s not been played to his strengths.
He’s clearly a lead up forward playing out of the goal square.
He has one very good trick and Stafford has played him out of position that doesn’t allow him to display it.
Any position thats not in the VFL side is out of position.
Sorry Tomahawk, just call time before it gets any more embarrassing. I was prepared to buy you were good enough last year, and I was prepared to buy you add structure and take a good defender but it now looks like you’re selfishly just chasing records - first the club games record and now 800 goals.

Was thinking the same, he was a worthy nomination for the thread but he's had a seriously good career.
This thread is about going on a year too long. He was a fine nomination before the injury even happened.
You're not allowed to mention someone because they get injured? Surely that's part of the equation in going on a year too long.
A few more should have bowed out on a high in 2022. They were never going to grab another one, the list profile was completely cooked.
Last night's injury is a sad way for him to bow out (if that's the case) but it's not the reason for him playing terribly last night and all of this year.

He's not what he was, but Geelong are still better when they have him in the team. If he didn't play last night Cameron would've had Weitering all night instead of Kemp. They could've ending up losing by 100 instead of 60.
