It's now farcical this rule. The umpires have NFI adjudicating it. Even the rule I believe is still hold with NO extension of the arms ie forward movement, only a very forceful push will sometimes get paid. It was Ok a few years ago. It's gone from that decision against Richo when they first brought in the rule... a hand touching the back was a free... To what we have now.
It is not a difficult decision if the umpire has a view side on, which they do. Sometimes they are standing 20m away and pay the mark. And we get the ridiculous explanations by umps as we saw a few weeks ago.
Probably why the dissent rule was also brought in... So umps didn't later look stupid trying to explain wrong decisions.
