It is not a difficult decision if the umpire has a view side on, which they do. Sometimes they are standing 20m away and pay the mark. And we get the ridiculous explanations by umps as we saw a few weeks ago.
Probably why the dissent rule was also brought in... So umps didn't later look stupid trying to explain wrong decisions.

The issue I have with it is how dangerous it is. Just like Hawkins has done any number of times.

Shove a bloke into the path of an oncoming player. It’s about the most dangerous thing I’ve seen on the footy field (well, since the king hit days) and it’s only Geelong blokes who do it.

Not to mention the Hawkins shove that cost Ivan a premiership

whoever gets the afl gig will automatically be seen as the greatest ceo of all time if he removes the stand rule and strips the shit out of the other rules.... but benny is the only one who has the balls to do what he wants..... so he won't get the gig

Have you seen the series Ted Lasso? It's excellent.
He manages a fictitious EPL club, Richmond. And they just cannot win at GP.
Seems its a thing in real life!
