So from 2017 - 2023 under Dimma we were last on the free kick ladder. The media and oppo fans kept banging on about it's the way we play. Then in 2024 Dimma at a new club they are magically top of the free kick ladder. Smells of pure BS to me. And just by chance with our new coach Yze we're still last. Bahahahaha.

I know we all need a good laugh with the club struggling at the moment, so here it is lads.

I actually take this as a massive compliment for Martin. Firstly, Dwayne has rated him best of the modern era .. better than Fyfe, Buddy, Danger, Pendles, Neale and anyone else from the last decade.

Secondly, he still rates him superior to Bont. Bont will be a 6 x AA and 6 x Best and Fairest in 3-months time. Runners-up in Brownlow twice (should have at least 1). AFL MVP and he could make it two this year. Bont is a genuine superstar and has been for a decade.

So instead of seeing that comment as a slight on Martin, I see it as a huge compliment to think a Cats/Port fan thinks Martin is the best of the modern era and still a superior player to Bont.

Bont is a champ but the game is about winning Grand finals. Nobody, not even Bont comes remotely close to that. Hodge would be closer than Bont. But a million miles in front the Goat is. It's almost ridiculous to even have the conversation.

What is it about the media and Richmond?
Unbelievable the stuff they push out lined with swamp poo to discredit us all the time.

What probably gets Martin over the line in Dwayne's eyes is Martin's record in Finals Footy, which as we all know, is when it truly matters most and is when the expectation goes up and the pressure goes up.

Reputations - good or bad are made in Finals.

Dwayne Russell understands why Collingwood fans weren’t happy with playing a home game against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

Under the current agreement, Collingwood plays two home games a year at Marvel Stadium.

While that won’t be changing, Russell understands why fans weren’t thrilled about having one of those games come against a tenant of the stadium already in the Western Bulldogs.

Russell couldn’t understand why the game wasn’t at the MCG, given it was a standalone Friday night fixture and many more fans than Marvel Stadium’s 53,343 capacity would have likely attended.

The SEN host thinks that the Magpies should only play home games at Marvel against interstate clubs, as they did against West Coast in Round 9.

“It's a worthy whinge,” Russell said on SEN Afternoons.

“The trouble is everyone's forced to play a game at Marvel to make up the Marvel allocation, but don't force Collingwood to play a home game against a Marvel co-tenant, that's just ridiculous from the AFL.

“They also lock out 30,000 fans in the process. A Collingwood home game at the MCG pretty much pulls 70 or 75,000 at least now, whether it's against a Melbourne-based team or even a non-Melbourne-based team.

“I mean, why would you cost yourself 30,000 fans when gate attendance is one of your main parameters in the fixture?

“Why would they schedule that one against the Bulldogs? If you’re going to schedule a Collingwood home game at Marvel, do it against Fremantle, do it against Port Adelaide, don't do it against the Dogs.

“It's a whinge, but I reckon it's a good one.”

Out of Collingwood’s nine home games at the MCG in 2024, four of them come against interstate clubs in Sydney, Port Adelaide, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Happy for that to happen as long as they travel down to Geelong for the first time in 20+ years.

Also, what is all this beat up about the rising star rule? Didn't see the media banging on about it when Dusty was ruled ineligble...

Yet when Richmond fans complain about home games at Marvel we are apparently sooks. LMAO where was this article in 2019 when Dimma said we hated the place?

Small man syndrome I suspect.

I wonder how many sides have 2 x 5 day breaks this year?... A few I suspect

I could have sworn we finished bottom 6 last year.

The Cats insider fixture guy = very, very small man

What the actual farrk is that article. Dwayne is as dumb as dogshit and licking arses.

The bit that really gets me though is the bit in bold...

They aren't suggesting that is a disadvantage are they? Surely not.

To be clear the Pies play 14 times at the MCG this year before finals. 3 times at Marvel.
1 x 5 day break.

They were Premiers and we finished bottom 6.
We play at the MCG 13 times and have 2 x 5 day breaks both returning from interstate.

Cry me a farrkkking river Dwayne.

Sigh.
Welcome to Richmond's World.
The longest years in succession 100k mermbers,no freebie members either and the CFL shaft us down to Geelong.

What about a media statement about THAT Mr Russell?

Pies always get the least number of games interstate and they haven't played at Kardinia Park since Polly Farmers days. Remember the outcry when we win a flag in 17 about the number of games we played at the MCG? Crickets when same happens with the pies.

The Pies last game at alphabet soup oval was 2013 and their second most recent game there was 1999.
