If you recall, they already got gifted TWO end of first round priority picks for 2024 last year. They are picks 19 & 20 in this year's draft. Norf then on-traded them so the AFL couldn't strip them back off them (they reserved the right to do so in case they went on a heater and moved up the ladder) after the draft last year.

It's a laugh that they are being such a responsible club by not "asking for one this year" as that would be their ****ing THIRD first round compo pick for this draft. They know the AFL would knock it back. That's why it was met with slow sarcastic hand claps from the other clubs.

Look, we all despise Collingwood, Carlton, to a lesser degree Essendon, Geelong, Brisbane and the godees (at least I do), but if there is one club that I have seen more than enough of them winning flags, it's Hawthorn. The last decade they didn't win anything was the 1950's!! Whenever they reach a grand final - since the mid '80's or so - I always hope they lose. The opponent doesn't matter.
