I read a story ages ago about Coke changing the recipe. The story goes the old USA coke was made with cane sugar. They changed the recipe to new Coke or some shit and everyone started to complain. They announced they'd go back to the old recipe which they did but using corn syrup. Basically the story was the whole new Coke thing was just so they could change to using corn syrup instead of cane sugar.

Generic nicknames are fair game to be reused but iconic ones like Disco, Lethal, Hungry, Plugger, Captain Blood, The Galloping Gasometer, Diesel, Plough, Flea, The Flying Doormat, Buddy, Macedonian Marvel are synonymous with players and should be left alone.

Wtf else do Gold Coast need to make finals???? If they don’t win today and end up not making finals, then I genuinely don’t know.

They have top youngsters from their academy, AFL assistance packages, a 3x Premiership coach, top draftees, and time. Like, what else do they want? Isn’t that more than enough?

I don’t understand. Yes, Fremantle is decent this year, but why are they already ahead of Gold Coast?

Two or three junkyard dawgs? Not enough guys prepared to get down & do the Grunt work, really dig in & say gonna fight tooth & nail for this??

Can’t believe where the bombers are sitting on the ladder - percentage of just 102 but doing enough to consistently get the W

Don’t like Brad Scott at all, but he’s always got the best out of his teams

At one club for 10 years with an eternity to shape their fortunes, after inheriting a mid table level team. 12 years later inherits another mid table level team on the up.

From that his overall coaching record of 124 wins 1 draw 119 losses definitely does not suggest he has gotten the best out of his teams. Has never beaten a team in a final that has finished top 4 and is in his 12th year of coaching this season.

And this is not to mention he left North Melbourne in such egregious plummet that 5 years later they are still on the very bottom of the ladder.

His overall finals record as a coach is 4-4. But interestingly 3 of the 4 losses were in the 10-16 goal deficit range. And the other one was 25 points. His average finals losing margin is 10 goals, which is horrendous. This also does not suggest his coaching has instilled any sort of highly competitive edge to his teams.

Still can't believe he was on the panel to select an Essendon coach and somehow selected himself. Nobody ever mentions it but how conflicted do you want to be.
