Exactly MR.People need to learn the rules. It wasn’t 50m. McCartin was at full speed on the tail of McStay. McStay marks … McCartin understandably can’t stop on a dime, and his momentum takes him a few metres over the mark. Umpire calls him back which he begins to do, and in the process of retreating back to the mark McStay wheels around onto his left and umpire calls play on.
If Laura comes out and says that was 50m, after saying the Pies V Roos one wasn’t, then all hope is lost for the leadership of our game.

The inertia was always going to carry him forward, just like it did to McStay who he was trailing. What are they expecting McCartin to do, throw himself to the ground like the javelin throwers who have to stop on a dime? Our blokes just aren't trained for that.
And anyway, if it's 50-50 the doubt should always go against the 50 metre penalty. After all, McStay still had the ball in his own forward half with the benefit of an unimpeded disposal. He screwed it up by just bombing to a contest.
