How's all the commentary gushing on the Suns and Giants for supposedly assembling such an elite list of youngsters.

They have enviable lists for three reasons only:

1. Consistently finishing low on the ladder and accessing high draft picks.
2. Consistently losing good players to more desirable destination clubs, thus getting even more high draft picks.
3. Having access to academy guns that other clubs cannot access.

As much as I loved Cotch and Lids in his day, we didn't acquire those boys through any great skills or achievements of our own - we failed into them both. Same with these two teams.
