I reckon it’s a big mistake.
Renders our argument about playing at Geelong worthless.
Hypocritical. We’ve made our bed here and deserve to cop what comes our way. This plays exactly into Chris Scott’s lap. Dumb move.

What are you talking about, where was this garbage with Collingwood last weekend when they played at their home ground. Oh that's right there wasn't any.

Ahhhhh, where would we be without the eternal outraged brigade. "never gonna go to another game again...." Yeah, ok. I'm sure if you have a daughter who wants to engage with the sport etc, that's exactly what's gonna happen. It's about time more people told these campaigners to **** off back under the rock they crawled out from.

Our position on the women’s final clearly doesn’t follow the principle the AFL follows in the AFL finals, but there are orders of magnitude in difference between a couple of thousand missing out on seeing a women’s final live and 60,000 missing out on seeing an AFL final live. Not to mention the revenue from ticket sales, must be something like $25k lost on the AFLW final versus about $5m on the difference between playing to 35k at Wingless and 95k at the MCG.

It just isn’t the same thing.

It was sold out in minutes. it's a lock out with less than 3000 getting in.
It totally IS about the principle. That's what culture is built on, following your deeply held principles.
Order of magnitude is a valid point, but seriously, if we/they want to grow the game you make it easier, not harder, for as many people as possible to get in to watch. And this "our home ground, we earnt it" crap. Spare me.It's exactly what we call out when Geelong whinge.

This is not about anyone else. It's us.
The game should be played on a ground that accommodates as many as that want to go.
Don't care about Collingwood, but I do care about Geelong. They're the prix that will get the advantage out of this.
Wait and see.
And we deserve it for this stupid stance.

Not sure what other venues are available here. If it is a straight choice between Princes Park and Punt Road, which are you choosing? In any event this is not an ongoing festering sore like Geelong AFL finals. It is a one off that will be more or less solved once Punt Road is finished. I guess somewhere like Port Melbourne might have been a reasonable compromise if it is even available(handed over to cricket?) but not sure what the capacity of that ground is.

There is a bit of an issue with no suitable ground on the south side of the city for this type of event. Ideally you want a 10k-20k capacity ground. Hopefully Punt Road becomes that ground.

Plenty of supporters made comment about it. Did RFC ever make a public comment on it?

How will Geelong get advantage, it has nothing to do with them. What you think because we stood our ground on this issue the AFL are going to send us down the highway lol.
