what a dumb cint

The AFL asked where Richmond would like the final and we said Punt Road… AFL approved it. For a decade the AFL hasn’t asked the Cats where they’d like the final, so they haven’t had a chance to answer.

The funny thing is many Richmond supporters don’t want it at Punt Road as they can’t get a ticket. Cats supporters still want their finals at the Cattery, ticket or not.

So this hasn’t ‘proven’ a thing. Tiger supporters laugh at the Cat supporters wanting to play big finals at their country stadium…. this won’t change just because Gale said he wanted the women’s final at Punt Road when the AFL asked him.

Our position on the women’s final clearly doesn’t follow the principle the AFL follows in the AFL finals, but there are orders of magnitude in difference between a couple of thousand missing out on seeing a women’s final live and 60,000 missing out on seeing an AFL final live. Not to mention the revenue from ticket sales, must be something like $25k lost on the AFLW final versus about $5m on the difference between playing to 35k at Wingless and 95k at the MCG.

It just isn’t the same thing.

The irony is this situation is PROVING the point us supporters have been making for years. Richmond have locked out a couple of thousand fans from an AFLW final and our supporters aren’t happy. We want it at a bigger ground so everyone can watch.

However, Cats supporters fume when the game is moved to the greatest sporting stadium in the world. Their supporters would PREFER to have literally tens of thousands of fans locked out and have the game at their home ground.

So if a Cats supporter cries into their milk about this next season, the simple answer is “Yeah, Tigers supporters wanted the game moved and weren’t happy it was at Punt Road … we’d have much preferred it at a larger stadium so we could have all gotten tickets”.

Then you’ll hear “Yeah, but your club wanted it at Punt Road, what about that?”

“Yes, the club decided on Punt Road as the AFL gave them the option. But unlike the Cats supporters who desperately want their finals at home and tens of thousands of fans locked out, our supporters wanted the bigger ground so we could all get a ticket.”

So the Cats supporters think this is great… except it actually proves our point - that it’s inconceivable to us that Cats supporters are happy to be locked out en-masse from seeing a final live just because you want your game at home.

This is not about anyone else. It's us.
The game should be played on a ground that accommodates as many as that want to go.
Don't care about Collingwood, but I do care about Geelong. They're the prix that will get the advantage out of this.
Wait and see.
And we deserve it for this stupid stance.

Don’t stress, there’s a huge difference. Cats fans cry when their final IS moved to accommodate all their fans. We cry now that ours has NOT been moved.

So now Cats fans can’t say “Oh yeah, but your fans would want your finals played at your home ground if put in the same situation ” …. Well, we had that situation and no, we didn’t.

I reckon it’s a big mistake.
Renders our argument about playing at Geelong worthless.
Hypocritical. We’ve made our bed here and deserve to cop what comes our way. This plays exactly into Chris Scott’s lap. Dumb move.
Lol. Pretty sure it was an AFL decision just like the one made for the cattery.

Got to do with $$$$.

will bring great experience in loosing games

Such a smart recruit from hawks

They literally want to lose and tank the next couple of years and Kade Simpson is the perfect man to lead them there

Magic round hey, all that remains is to see who...

1. Gets to play their otherwise interstate game on neutral territory
2. Has their otherwise home game against said interstate side played on neutral territory.

Well we can guarantee the scats, pies and druggies will get the first option and we will get the second option.

I personally wouldn't mind playing Adelaide or Port Adelaide in this round because it means keeping the second option in tact if you don't get gifted the first option.

I don't know how they are going to do this in regards to who plays who, id say that the Crows and Power will be kept separate possibly against us and the pies. Scats wont be giving up one of their shanty ground free hits to be played in this round so will be scheduled against one of the other 6 interstate sides as the away team.

All i know is that there is going to be pissed off fans from the other 16 clubs in regards to who plays who.

And the argument will be " oh but they still get 11 home and 11 away games " that's not the issue, the issue will be who gets to play who.
