Melb could self implode
Saints won't get the same run again, over achieved
Swans scraped in when they probably shouldn't have
GWS, will they get the second years blues under Kingsley

4 legitimate question marks on teams in the 8. Now, all four could make it again, no worries, but I could also see a reult where 3/4 didn't make it
If we don't make it, I'm a bit torn, imagine the melts from Pies fans if the Dees won it? Especially after what May said. Then again, who wants to see Melbourne win it again though? Flog team.
Maybe a team outside the 8 worth jumping on if the Tiges don't, Adelaide? wow that would be funny, Port Fans with Kenny would melt hard.

If we don't make it, I'd be happy for GWS.

Plastic team, no history, no supporters to carry on, Kingsly ex-Tiges, and possibly spur on TT and Hops the following year....

Rozee is >>>>> TT / Hopper / Naughton

Yes, I don’t disagree. But imagine we’d signed Shai Bolton last year until end of 2032 ….

As I said … Hopper and TT until end of 2029 is looking pretty conservative now.

The Dusty one is their biggest conundrum. The only player worthy of being in a combined dynasty team …. yet despite leading the team to a dynasty and minor premiership over a 4-year period and being our only elite player, not in the best handful of players this century.

That’s when the ‘2017-2020’ was a weak era kicks in. It’s quite amazing really … despite the elite players being largely the same cohort in 2016 and 2021 … Buddy, Danger, Cameron, Hawkins, Selwood, Greene, Bont, Cameron, Pendlebury, Neale, Cripps, Boak, Parker, Mitchell, Macrae, Sidebottom, Shuey, Treloar, Grundy, Kelly, Zorko, Walker, Viney, Coniglio, Duncan, Gunston, Walters, Wingard, Dunkley … I won’t go on ….

And despite coaching standards improving and technology improving and fitness improving ….

Despite all this, for some inexplicable reason the quality of football took a nosedive specifically from 2017-2020. All the players somehow started playing like crud, but then on October 1st 2020, a magic wand appeared and everyone returned to being excellent footballer again and the standards elevated once more.

It’s a miracle occurrence that should be investigated more… quite amazing.

Add port to that list. Luck played a big part in winning 13 straight.

Dogs. Consistently inconsistent. Waiting for an implosion there with bevo.

We definitely have the talent. A bit of luck with injuries and we can make it.

Swans are very well coached and can’t see them dropping out of the 8. Especially with Franklin retiring.

Kingsley is building a potent team and also see them remain in the 8, possibly top 4.

Just watching a WCE v SYD 2006 game to kill some time.

What strikes me is three.

1) the umpiring is better.
2) the commentators arent talking absolute crap.
3) the jumper colours and graphics are richer. None of this 'vibrant' 2020s crap.
league is corrupt to the core now and we are expected to just cop it sweet

Manager might have been smart enough to write into his contract that his deals goes up the saem % that the salary cap increases...

Somebody check on Kane Cornes.

That was the first message from Fox Footy analyst David King after news first emerged around Port Adelaide star Connor Rozee’s monster contract extension.

The Power on Monday morning confirmed Rozee has inked an insane eight-year deal that will take him through to the end of the 2032 season, making him one of the longest-contracted players in the competition.

The club’s announcement was followed by more big news with Rozee to take over the captaincy.

Rozee will turn 24 in January, but has been given the leadership position following Tom Jonas’ retirement.

Rumours around the contract suggest Rozee will be one of the highest paid players in the competition after Power great Warren Tredrea said earlier this year Rozee was set to agree to the richest deal in the history of the club.

Cornes also said last month the deal is worth more than $1m per-year.

The Footy Show host has been a vocal critic of clubs offering long-term contracts, pointing out the numerous examples where deals have backfired on football clubs.

Seeing a long-term deal unfold at his own football club, Cornes’ reaction was expected to be priceless — but the former premiership winner didn’t have much to say on Monday morning.

“Love the player, hate the contract,” he wrote on Twitter.

Cornes discussed the deal last month when speaking on SEN radio.

“I think someone has got a voodoo doll,” Cornes said.

“I think someone’s got one with my face on it and they’re putting needles into it because there’s a big long-term contract that’s about to be signed very, very close to home.

“Right under my nose and it will feature my first or second favourite player in the league.

“It’ll be for Connor Rozee, the next captain of Port Adelaide, put your house on that.

“It’s happening, I love him. But I think they never work out in the favour of the club apart from the odd exception.

“But well done to him (Rozee) and as I always say well done to the management.

“I’ll cop my medicine when that announcement happens, and I’ll criticise it we’ll move on.

“But it’s going to be a million plus (per year).”

It’s why King’s thoughts turned towards his footy media rival.

Rozee in October announced his engagement with his partner of three-years Maisie Packer.

The pair shared the news on Instagram with a joint post featuring a series of photos with the pair plus an engagement cake and close up of the ring, captioned: “Forever with you”.

Rozee’s teammates were quick to celebrate the pair’s engagement, with teammate Zak Butters calling the news “unreal”.

Rozee’s extension comes after Butters inked a two-year contract through to the end of 2026.

“It’s so humbling to follow in the footsteps of club greats such as Russell Ebert, Gavin Wanganeen, Matthew Primus, Travis Boak, the list just goes on and on,“ Rozee said, as reported by NCA NewsWire.

“To wear the No.1 guernsey is something I’m incredibly proud of and I won’t take for granted.

“I feel I’m ready to lead our group moving forward.”

“No doubt I’ll learn along the way, but I know I’ll have great support from the rest of my leadership group and also former captains Ollie Wines and Travis Boak.”Now a two-time All Australian as well as a club best-and-fairest winner in 2022, Rozee, who was taken with pick 5 in 2018, said he “never wanted to leave” the club.

In our defence should be the fact that he was at EFC at all.. the injury not bad enough to prevent a second club employing him. Chuck in the fact that he played with an edfl club
i think the 2 AFL clubs he played for will contribute some funds twd whatever treatment hes recieving outta the goodness and fairness
of theyre hearts, suprised if its anywhere near a mil, that amount just leaves the door ajar to any player whomever was slightly concussed n that would be about 90% of the entire history of aussie rules

so zantuck hit Richmond for damages. Seems like the epidurals are the issue. Seems incredibly high number of injections.

EFC didn't administer any epidurals

60 players in the class action.

Don't think zantuck is part of that...
Hang on suing RFC for CTE too
