It’s great isn’t it, before R1 we were garbage in these peoples eyes and would never be good.

Essendon made the 8 last year by a combination of:

• Career best seasons for Parish and Merrett. Stringer career best form 2nd half of season
• Favourable draw
• logjam in the middle of the ladder, they won their last 3 and we lost our last 3

They really lack in the forward line, Jones and Tippa would help massively, though at this point I’d struggle to see them winning more than 8-10 max this year.

They have a fair few bases covered, but they don’t have the KPP talent we do at this point, also lacking size in the midfield.
