Yes. By the rules the afl have set up its a 50.I didn’t watch the game, was the 50 there or nah
She's certainly got the "downplay the nasty acts of players" routine down pat. Buddy gets Cotchin square across the jaw with his knuckles; Daisy's opinion "ahhh, it was an open hand, he's fine" ... huh? Do knuckles hurt less, or have a lower chance of injuring if the fist isn't completely closed? One of the better commentators on 7.
I'm more talking her knowledge of the game. Actually provides some interesting analysis. Can't say the same for the majority of others on 7She's certainly got the "downplay the nasty acts of players" routine down pat. Damning with faint praise
Also, one set of rules for them, another for the other 17 clubs. Who knew?I would have wanted 50. But I'm glad it wasn't paid.
Reading the Richmond board, I have "learnt" that attendances are down 30% because of the quality of the umpiring... where do they get this stuff?

The best special comments person they have by a country mile imo. Actually says stuff that is insightful and not totally obvious sometimes. One of the better commentators on 7.
Sorry, I don’t agree. Essendon as a club, including its fanbase hasn’t recovered from this period. What it / they went through was like nothing any club has ever gone through in the past. Dragged through the mud for 4 years. Essendon is still trying to pick up the pieces and it’s culture and soul are still a product of that period.
No, I don’t tbh. I’ve moved on. You have no choice. It doesn’t mean supporters aren’t still haunted by it. The truth hasn’t been completely told. Essendon likely paid a heftier price for what it actually did and the club and its fanbase didn’t get a fare go, legally or in the media (by extension the public domain). Every day was another headline. Another image of an injection on the front pages. The narrative was cemented and the facts used where convenient to suit ones narrative.
Yet calves blood injected into Max Rookes hamstring muscles was all good and people still believe no other clubs were playing with this stuff. Richmond’s Mark Coghlan had 17 injections of calves blood last year. In Essendon’s case the use of injections in any context was not a good look.. In Geelongs case it was innovative injury management. That was how it went basically for 4 years in the media.
Essendon paid the full price for what it did, despite never being proven to have done what it was penalised for (WADA sanction).
Most Essendon people are exhausted by it. Just want to move on and win a bloody final!
Sheedy coming out today speaks for the underlying frustration for what transpired. Having said all this, we have to move on...
We have to move on, they said, while not moving onFrom an Essendon supporter in the 'Sheedy Whining about Essendon being busted cheating' thread:
There's a wide variety of responses in that thread, from "We was unfairly treated, Jobe shouldn't have lost his medal" to "Wish Sheeds could keep his gob shut" and "Why are you all still talking about this!!! WE'VE moved on, why can't YOU??? LOOK how much we've moved on!!!"We have to move on, they said, while not moving on
And hopefully never moving on...and us & every other supporter base can never allow them to move on. We must all ingrain in our offspring that * are drug cheats (and pretty poor at it given they won nothing & got caught) and goading them about it must persist for generations. We have to move on, they said, while not moving on
The AFL need to apologise to the rest of the clubs for giving * a tip off that ensured nobody really knows what went into the players and therefore we are still debating it years later. From an Essendon supporter in the 'Sheedy Whining about Essendon being busted cheating' thread:
The only opinions that matter are from those who actually know what happened. Everything else is just based on speculation and half truths. There's a wide variety of responses in that thread, from "We was unfairly treated, Jobe shouldn't have lost his medal" to "Wish Sheeds could keep his gob shut" and "Why are you all still talking about this!!! WE'VE moved on, why can't YOU??? LOOK how much we've moved on!!!"
It's quite interesting. Makes one wonder about the spectrum of opinions that exist within the club.
We eventually owned our shit. The AFL need to apologise to the rest of the clubs for giving * a tip off that ensured nobody really knows what went into the players and therefore we are still debating it years later.
* need to apologise to the AFL and the rest of the clubs for being a sh*tstain of a club, who tried to cover up what they were doing and failing to provide evidence of what the players were injected with, despite claiming that everyone would be ok when the truth came out.
And Sheedy needs to apologise for being a useless relic that pops his head up at the most inopportune times to say something completely irrelevant and unnecessary.
"no club has ever gone through" Please! Carlton salary cap penalties say hi. * should have copped much worse than they did.
Lastly, you'd think after all this time, this dickhead might have inkling of a clue about what is and isn't banned. Calve's blood is NOT banned if injected into muscle or tissue. It's only banned if done intravenously.
This would be akin to David Parkin coming out and saying the AFL owes Carlton an apology for the salary cap stuff.
But also the injection and use of cfc, the calf blood compound, is literally only for speeding up injury recovery times. It has no advantage other than some science suggests it speeds up recovery. From an Essendon supporter in the 'Sheedy Whining about Essendon being busted cheating' thread:
And co-operated with the investigationWe eventually owned our shit.
As far as I'm aware, and this may not be the forum for it, but a lot of steroids do exactly that, speed up recovery which gives you the ability to train harder and more often. But also the injection and use of cfc, the calf blood compound, is literally only for speeding up injury recovery times. That is not a drug making you literally bigger and stronger than your opponents could ever possibly become fairly.
