Seriously, at what point do they just cut their losses and put him out of his misery?

Yeah draft order is based on final results. Best case scenario is pick 13Wouldn’t be surprised to see west coast out in straight sets.
Too many injuries.
Fingers crossed anyway.

I'm not sure his misery will end when he eventually gets cut.Seriously, at what point do they just cut their losses and put him out of his misery?
Depend on how much Lion win against Eagles , West coast could play RichmondIF the Demons beat the Giants
Sydney will play GWS at the SCG in the Elimination Final
AND
Geelong will play Melbourne at the MCG after the 2 games this year were both decided at the death.
IF the Giants beat the Demons, Geelong and Melbourne will both have to play in Sydney against the Swans and Giants respectively.
IF the Lions beat the Eagles then Collingwood will steal 2nd place and an MCG clash with the Eagles.
IF the Eagles lose 2 finals in straight sets, pick #14 could be ours!
Tigers will play the Hawks no matter what for the first time in Final ever.
Massive pick up for them if they can manage it.Lachie Neale to the Lions? Surely not
It gives us hope 'if' true.Massive pick up for them if they can manage it.
He’ll stay. Another one of those rumours that go around for a week then gets dismissed then we never hear about it again.Lachie Neale to the Lions? Surely not
at the end of 2023... that's a long time ahead you're looking thereI'd like to see Neale at the Lions
(member from 1996 - 2004) so definite soft spot
If Fremantle stink Fyfe might be up for leaving when his contract is over..
And no way they should lose a home prelim with a weeks’ rest, although would love the Dees with that midfield to steamroll them. We need to develop a midfield like Melbourne’s, with big, skilful hardnuts such as Oliver, Brayshaw etc.well west coast guaranteed to finish top 4.
sigh.
As much as I was hoping the would beat collingwood, because, collingwood.. its not good for us.
I don't think Melbourne Style work for GC , the current list Clayton left behind consisted of a lot of skinny Flanker , you need to create a gameplan that suite to this type of players .Create your own style by borrowing idea from other team .And no way they should lose a home prelim with a weeks’ rest, although would love the Dees with that midfield to steamroll them. I’m all for keeping the best of our “skinny flankers”, but keep them on the outside, and draft a couple more running big bulls to help win contested ball. Not always easy to find those players though.I don't think Melbourne Style work for GC , the current list Clayton left behind consisted of a lot of skinny Flanker , you need to create a gameplan that suite to this type of players .Create your own style by borrowing idea from other team .
Just curious, who do you consider from current players as 'skinny Flankers'? I can see only Martin and Powell. Did I miss someone?I don't think Melbourne Style work for GC , the current list Clayton left behind consisted of a lot of skinny Flanker , you need to create a gameplan that suite to this type of players .Create your own style by borrowing idea from other team .
Scrimshaw , Shoenfield, Wigg ,Hebron , Nutting, Lemmann ,McPherson,Ballard .Just curious, who do you consider from current players as 'skinny Flankers'? I can see only Martin and Powell. Did I miss someone?
It goes back to every draft Clayton did where he always went for skinny kids with potential and rarely a big-bodied AFL ready prospect. It is a criticism but also demonstrates Clayton's flawed genius for list building, forever with an eye to the future and rarely picking for immediate need. If I picked a player from each of his drafts you'd see what the haters mean, but also how the kids turned out.Just curious, who do you consider from current players as 'skinny Flankers'? Very rarely draftees have adequate muscles mass. Always remember how skinny Fyfe was or even Lynch if you look at their draft picture. From your list I personally would not consider any player skinny Flanker. Lemmens, McPherson, Wigg, Shoenfeld are close to optimal body, muscle. Ballard drafted was 83 kg, as Scrimshaw. In a 1-2 years both will be 90kg with developed bodies.Scrimshaw , Shoenfield, Wigg ,Hebron , Nutting, Lemmann ,McPherson,Ballard .
Skinny not interm of KG , but muscles mass . Martin don't need to be big because he can leap and take mark .
JOM, Bowes, Ah Chee not skinny Flankers for me. The rest I would say yes.It goes back to every draft Clayton did where he always went for skinny kids with potential and rarely a big-bodied AFL ready prospect. 2010 Harley Bennell Height:185 cm Weight:74 kg
2011 Jaeger O'Meara Height:183 cm Weight:83 kg
2012 Jack Martin Height:186 cm Weight:82 kg
2013 Kade Kolodjashnij Height:190 cm Weight:85 kg
2014 Jarrod Garlett Height:180 cm Weight:74 kg
2015 Callum Ah Chee Height:182 cm Weight:71 kg
2016 Jack Bowes Height:187 cm Weight:82 kg
2017 Wil Powell Height:185 cm Weight:70 kg
These height and weight figures are mostly current, but not particularly accurate. Some of the kids have put on weight and some haven't. And there are 30 more like this! But the one most punters continually point to is Spindleshanks Jarrad Grant, twiced drafted by Scott Clayton, first at the Bulldogs and then to the Suns.
