Really starting to believe Ben King is comfortably the superior King

I have to say I never wanted Zorko anywhere near our Club. Not because he can't(or more accurately now "couldn't")play footy but really fails the character test
A very dislikeable player on field and every time Touk messed him up it was a joy to watch
While the Lyons trade embarrassed us for a while it's pretty obvious his deficiencies are now coming home to roost and he was never good enough to make a difference to our list
He did the right thing extending his career up the road
Ah Chee? How does 12 possessions a game over 18 games this season hurt the opposition?
Not an ex Suns player but I've always thought Daniel Rich has wrung the most out of himself over the years and I admire that in a player
Having said that I can't imagine him playing in a premiership
Hard to see Zorko Lyons Rich Robinson or Matheson being important parts of their team going forward
End of an era there maybe
They may surprise and get through week 1 of the finals but they'd have to turn around some solid history with their away form

Zorko has always been like that. Right kreglze
Played against him throughout juniors. Always was a tough bugger and played well against older and much bigger kids. But always a smart arse.

Yeah Brisbane seem pretty disjointed at the moment.

MCcluggage, Rayner, Andrews, Bailey, Berry, Coleman, Hipwood, Starcevich a great core.

Wonder if they need to recycle and get a bit more young talent in.

I'm not a Hipwood fan
I place him around Sam Day standard
Not as good as 2MP

Yeah was always pretty lippy. Also smacked us about in indoor cricket as well haha.

I actually really like Matheson despite his annoying on field antics.

Such a club driven bloke. Seems like he'd be happy to spend his entire career playing VFL for the Lions when he could get games at other clubs, just so that if Brisbane needed him he would be ready.

Wish we had a few like him tbh.

I just think he is not playing to his strengths.
Should be a Jeremy Cameron lite. Use his pace and long slinging left foot from further upfield.

Kicked 30, 37, 35 goals as a 19-21 year old.
Hasn't really kicked on beyond this.

Is way better than Sam Day.

Look Hipwood is no superstar

But he is way better than Day and it's not even close.

Hipwood averages more goals, goal assists, possessions, marks, marks inside 50, tackles inside 50

Equal contested marks

Day averages more handballs and hitouts

By the time Hipwood has played the same amount of games as Day he will have kicked >100 extra goals.

Not sure how you can even argue this.

Agreed. But as a small counter-argument, Day has also played defence.

Anyway, he’s been a good servant of the club, but is not the great player we hoped he would become.

Yeah he played probably 15 games of his career in defence?
Didn't help boost his marking stats despite plenty of opportunity to chip it around the back.

Definitely a good servant of the club.
But not really helped us move forward as a playing group on field IMO. Just been a guy occasionally out on the field across our history.
I'm sure he's added much needed maturity and leadership for the young list over the last few years in particular.

Don't really feel that bad losing to the Tassie Hawks with a depleted squad, when the dogs who are playing for a finals spot can't even get up for it
