For all the posters who were looking for a team to drop out of the 8 from last year so a spot would open up for us - Fremantle may just be that team. They were pretty poor against St Kilda today and I don't rate the Saints' list. Question marks over Richmond and the Bulldogs too. So there could very well be 2-3 top 8 spots up for grabs if we can get it together.

Talk about salary cap issues (if true)
“The five guys that they’re playing five million bucks to is Toby Greene, Lachie Whitfield, Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly and Nick Haynes (this and next year, back ended).”

Geelong are 0-2 and look vulnerable in the lead up to their trip north to Heritage next week...

Jeremy Cameron looked very sore too. A chance to miss?

Can we claim Ashcroft as a GC Academy product still? haha JET
FWIW he spent five years in our academy program and was selected as a bottom age U15 All-Australian in his final year in our academy so you could certainly argue we developed him into a standout within his draft class BEFORE he moved to Victoria. Born and raised Gold Coaster doing his thing at the top level. Just a shame it's not in the red and gold.

Collingwood are incredible. Some many good kicks on the team and it just opens teams up.
Beautiful football team to watch.
Yeah. There's not too many teams you want to watch are there?
But I will watch Collingwood
They just open teams up and use speed and skill to get into their forward 50 in a couple of kicks
If it's us we chip around chip around pass it chip around
For instance I hate watching Geelong-that grind away heartless defence then working to a tall forward contest
It's like hello 1955 but the updated 2023 style

Geelong and Richmond have been bad to watch for years. Collingwood the last season and now have been awesome. They take risky kicks, move the ball well, run and gun when it's available.
San Antonio Spurs like.

I was happy with the Freo-north result really.

Can’t see north making finals but Freo look like they could be one team to possibly drop out.
Bulldogs are potentially in big trouble too. 0-2 so far and their next three matches are against Brisbane, Richmond and Port Adelaide. Another top 8 spot from last year seemingly up for grabs.

Win today and we're guaranteed to be at least equal 8th. Let's get this ball rolling!

Jack Steele ruled out for about 4 weeks.

Gee, Sydney are the envy of all us non-VIC sides.

Well drilled, balanced list without too many holes, incredible development (kids coming through are about elite already), churning out academy players.

Our performance, while still shocking, won’t be the only demolition Sydney gives out.

Helps us in our round 4 clash against them in a fortnight from now.

They are the benchmark and what we should be aspiring to replicate. We do have three absolute guns coming through our academy this year so I think we're on the right track!

This game makes our loss to them last week not look as bad. Also makes Essendon's win over Hawthorn not look as impressive.
