I think at that level people know how to play 6th street a bit better then most of your local 2/3 punters...

Didn't mean that as in someone should have berated the MEG, just that surely someone said "wow, big pot" "geez, nice turn" "shit, vnh" etc. surely they can't all be stone-faced rocks and act like it was just another hand after such a big, crazy pot like that?!!

There was definitely some head shaking, but both Levy and the other guy left pretty quietly. It was somewhat less dramatic since they only showed after the turn card came out.

Maybe, but I think all these players would have played a lot of poker to be playing at this level, thats its just standard. While its a lot of cash ldo, well, this good players would have seen these fish come and go, and shit like this happen. For reference, look up the Guy Laliberte vs Doyle Brunson hand from HSP Season 4? I think...

Thinking of heading to the Casino tonight. Free Entry with a $20 Rebuy and $20/$30 Add-Ons.

Its a qualifier for entries to the PokerZone Challenge this Sunday which is entries for the ANZPT Adelaide Event.

Only 2 entries up for grabs in the end. I won one of those. :thumbsu:

Can't wait for Sunday. Hoping there will be about 6 tickets up for grabs.

In my win on Tuesday night, I won a total of 4/5 pots before the final table. I wasn't getting any cards. I spent $50 on Add-ons/Rebuys at the first break as I was down to $300.

For most of the final table I was the short-stack. I ended up making a great call against the chip leader to in a 40k pot. I then had the chip lead until the end.

Played in the $340 Satellite to the Adelaide ANZPT Main Event last night. Only 28 entries.

Ended up with 5 tickets and a little over $900 for 6th and just over $300 for 7th.

I got eliminated in 12th :( Had 88. Blinds = 800/1600. Everyone had folded to me except for one person 3 from my right who rasied to 4k and I'm the short stack on the table with 9.6k. I raise all-in. He thinks and ends up calling with A9os.

Flop is 10 - 8 - J

Turn is a 7

River is a 4.

If I win that hand I'm on 20k and in a nice position to see the FT. Tough way to end a Tourney I've been in for about 5 hours and so close to the FT.

My LOL hand, Had 10:heart: - 9:diamond: on the button. I raised to 2400. Blinds were 600/1200. SB folds and BB calls.

Flop is J - K - 4. BB checks. I bet 2k. BB calls.

Turn is a 3. BB checks. I bet 2k. BB calls.

River is a 6. BB checks. I bet 1500. BB folds.

WTF?

Classic post-oak bluff. He has QT probably. The tiny bet on the end is good in these situations because it only needs to pay off very rarely to be worth it. On the other hand your 2k turn bet doesn't achieve much.

It got me an extra 2k. :p

Re: Australian (and NZ) Casino discussion (except for Crown Casino)

Some good news regarding Conrad Jupiters.

As of this Wednesday, they're opening a new poker room with 12 tables instead of 4.

Went there tonight, by 6:30 they had 6 tables running, 8 by 7:30, and by the time I left at about 10:30, they had all 12 open.

Really impressive room though, a lot better, apart from they havent quite figured how to operate it smoothly yet. It's run like a bit of a circus, but I'm sure they'll get better.

As I said, went there last night for a small 3 hour session, for a profit of ~$50.

Wasn't involved in any big hands, the biggest pot I won would've been around $110 with A/10 against A/2 on an A/7/9/4/10 board. Raised to $7 pre-flop and had 3 callers, fired out $20 on the flop, $30 on the turn, and then checked the scary 10 on the river (any flush draws/straight draws would've got there).

I had kings once, flop A/6/6 so I won ~$40 pot. Fired out on the flop and the guy who called my raise pre called, checked it down and my kings were good.

Had jacks once but had to make a difficult fold on an 8/10/Q board against a solid player who was up about $600 to my left. He showed AQ so life is good...

Lost about a $100 pot with pocket 9's on a K/2/5/K/2 board, the bloke called my flop and turn bets with A/2, ldo. I haven't shown a bluff yet and he thinks his BPTK is good. He stacked off a little later with A/8 on a ridiculously scary A/Q/10/9/7 board against QQ, so unfortunately I didn't get to win my money back :(.

I was going to try a few bluffs, but it's a lot harder to get them through live because people are likely to call with nothing a lot of the time. Called a raise on the button with 10/4 s00ted (yes, but it was s00ted...), flop came down 10/9/4, he checks to me, I fire out $15, he calls. Turn an 8, checks to me, I fire out $30, he calls, river is a Q, he fires out $50 and I fold, he shows AJ.. wp sir....

Went down to Jupiters again last night, was running a lot smoother and I only had to wait for ~20 minutes, something of a rarity!

Came out about $80 up, again just from picking up the small pots.

No real hands of note, second hand down I had AKo and raised to $10 after a limper, flop came down all rags, limper bet out $15, I didn't think he had anything but didn't want to get frisky and he showed me 10/8... nice bluff Sir

That guy turned out to be a bit of a 'pro', so he was EZ moniezzzz...

Only real hand I was able to isolate him was with AQo though, he comes in UTG with a min raise to $4, I re-pop to $15 from MP and everyone else clears. Flop comes down K/8/7, completely missing both of us and he checks over to me, I thought about betting, but he was a calling station and never folded before a river, so I checked back. Turn brought another 7, he checked over to me, this is where I decided to have a stab, betting about $25 into a $35 pot, and surprisingly enough he called. Check check on the blank river and my AQ was good, NFI what he was calling me with. Unfortunately he busted not long after and didn't buy back in :(.

Only other major pot I won all-night was with A/6 on the BB. Limped pot, I just checked and there was about 4 of us to a flop. Flop came down AK7, and it checked around to the button, who bet $10, 3 callers. Turn was a 2, button bet $25, 2 callers. River was a 6, and I checked (probably a mistake), and it got checked around and my two-pair was good.

Went in with FC a couple of days ago and we didn't even have to wait.

We got there shortly after 9 and a table had just opened up with a few seats available, so we sat straight down at $1/$2.

8 tables were open at 9 and it stayed that way until we left around around midnight.

The room certainly operates a lot smoother than it did when it first opened, which is great because as FC said, it really was a circus the first time we went in there and checked out the new room.

Made a d0nk call with 10:diamond: 3:diamond: after someone had raised to $5 pre, 4 runners, flop came down 10/10/x, guy who raised pre leads out for $10, I called, other two folded, turn was J:club:, original raiser checks, I bet $25, (leaving $46 behind) he called, river was the J:spade:, he bet $50 on the river and I made the call for $46.

He showed K:heart: K:diamond:.

D0nk calls preflop with suited cards FTW! :thumbsu: :D

I'm not even sure what made me make the call, but the guys raise to $5 was just strange...

Ah yes, something like that. :D

Remember, if it wasn't for me, you would have lost all your chips on that top pair flush draw.

So, I saved you some money by talking you into folding that hand.

You did not talk me into folding anything.

I made that decision for myself, since we're not allowed to talk about our hands during the hand anyway... n00b.
