So glad I changed my tip yesterday. I don’t know what I was thinking picking Melbourne in the first place.
Does the crows board suck so bad that you’ve decided to hang out here or something?
Not criticising, you’ve been perfectly fine, it’s just unusual to see an oppo supporter posting on threads that don’t involve their cub in some capacity 😆

Grundy was Grundy at his best and Grundy at his worst but nevertheless GREAT. Rattle on about your DE% all you like, but Gawn respectfully all but freely admitted that Grundy comprehensively beat him. With Adams playing in the side, I'm going to have divided loyalties, which was sort of the case anyway, till Nick Davis became a Swan.

Grundy is a proud guy with a point to prove. Despite the Grundy 'gaffes', 'miss-kicks', 'miss-handballs' and time spent apparently in a part time comedy role that coincided with his time on the ball, he was still pretty close to great.

His opponent, Gawn, is apparently 'cooked', though I am not sure if the cooking occurred prior to or during the game itself. Certainly he claimed after the game to be strangely unwell.

Grundy beat Gawn hands down it was an interesting tactic he used also, giving him no room to jump and very physical with it if anyone knows how to get the better of Gawn Grundy does as he showed again last night.

If Gawn is on his last legs then I think they will struggle to make finals and Oliver looks like he is badly out of condition he looks like he needs to do a pre season again someone remarked yesterday that he looked like a big bodied mid and when he took his shirt off at halftime you could see exactly what he was alluding to.

The Dees could implode by mid season it all depends on Gawn and Oliver and on last nights showing it could be on the cards.

I'm in my transition era. I know it's generally frowned upon in AFL circles (and sporting circles more generally), but I can't help myself. I'm falling and falling hard. It started in the finals series and has only gotten stronger since. Even the off season didn't dull the desire.

Need a name change. Hill2Shoota sounds good to me

Well, I certainly toughed a nerve or two over on the Swans v Dreamons game thread on the Main Board, I'm no longer able to post over there. I consider it a badge of honor!
Something to aspire to.

I have Collingwood, GWS, Adelaide and Brisbane as my top 4 this year. I wouldn't jump off the Crows just yet, I can see them as a serious contender this year. However, the cosmic force that Collingwood has is very dangerous to look at, if you support another club. It's a bit like Mowgli when he is hypnotised and lured in the coils of the snake, it's hard to escape

Gawn made a point of mentioning their last 6 mths and if that was their reaction to it they are definitely done,it feels like 21 Collingwood to me, Goodwin probably gone by mid season and I think it will be at least mid season before Oliver comes good if at all this season they should have traded him when they had the chance to.

If they had not made such a song and dance about Maynard I might of had a bit of sympathy for them but not now, probably should retired Gawn and kept Grundy on last nights showing it is going to be an interesting watch at the Dees next few weeks.

All I did was mention their plastic Covid Cup a few times and a couple of them got very upset.
It doesn't take much to find the straw to break them, with all their issues at the moment.

I don’t see them beating out Brisbane, GWS or us… maybe contending for 4th?

Yeah thats my presumed top 4. I know for sure those 4 sides stack up.
When Sydney are doing their thing they can grind out a win against anyone.
If anyone else makes top 4 - which they might - it will be because they are actually pretty good.

I'm very happy for Grundy. It was great to see him at his best. I think he'll do well at Sydney. Back playing where he belongs. Dees never really valued him as much as they said they did.

I miss him. I wish he won a flag with us.
But very happy to see him doing well.
The criticism of him tapping to feet with us I blame on the coaching. I think he will thrive under Dean Cox.

Second half was better but couldn’t hold my attention in the first half.

Grundy back to his best. Unfortunately for him, last year melbourne was a bad fit. Perphsos they should have traded Gawn….

Adams might find himself in the same boat this year. Swans midfield was excellent despite three keys players missing.

Neither side had a good tall forward setup.

Oliver Is fat and despite his good possession count was largely ineffective

Well he completely nullified Gawn last night and our 2 will have to be on their game next week but because Melbourne were so bad it does not mean Sydney are so good that we have fear them.

You could see weeks ago that this was going to happen to Melbourne and I think it is only just the start there is a lot of pain just around the corner for them and after Maynard,s treatment by them and their coach I have no sympathy for them, the S--- will really hit the fan for them dire straits is an apt description.

Yes getting back on Grundy they really stitched him up and he gave it back to them in spades last night and it would be fair to say Grundy hates the Dees more us but we will see next week.

Don't leave mate, you are more than welcome here.

I highly rate both the players in your username also!

Mate he looked like he was going to explode at halftime when they took that jumper off his gut was nearly as big as mine and I am 66,he has been a great extractor for them but as the Rolling Stones sang "it is all over now" sad really but not so much when I think of their treatment of Maynard " what goes around comes around".

He wasn’t ready to play but they’re desperate. Been a while since I’ve seen an AFL footballer in that shape.

You just cannot get away with being in the condition Olliver was in last night and expect to get away with it these days he looked like Mick Nolan out there. After all the trouble he has had pre season I think it was bloody unfair to force him to play but after Brayshaw going they had no one else and Grundy smashing Gawn did not help.

Some one said they expected the Dees to implode mid season and last night I think saw the 1st signs of it.
