Ottens fails to deliver when it matters most

Yes, just like carey delivered in the game against the bulldogs, 2001 i think it was, at the telstra dome. North were a goal down and he had a set shot 15m out on a slight angle with about a minute left. He hit the post and north lost.

Find an example when Carey was in his prime like Ottens should be. By 2001 he was well past it and everyone (with the possible exception of you) would know that.

You cannot honestly say as a football lover, that the only reason Geelong lost that game was because of Ottens miss.. Football games are not won by one moment, Geelong played poorly all day, did not deserve a win, and the fact that we came close suggests that even on a bad day, we are competitive.
Get off Brads back and give him a go, he has done far more good to this club than any real Geelong supporter could have hoped for at this stage.
Whoever stared this thread, get real.

I repeat- Ottens fails to deliver when it matters most!

My god, one of the greats suddenly can't slot one through from 15m 3 or 4 years before he retires.

Chris Grant past his prime in 2001, slots one through against essendon.

On the boundary, 35 out.
on his wrong foot, chooses not to go the banana.
to grab the lead against the 'greatest team of all time' who are heading for the perfect season, until that happens.

Remember you tool, it is you who is mentioning ottens and carey in the same sentence. Dont think anyone here is claiming that ottens is one of the greats.

you are a clown.

Blaming Otto for today's loss is just so short-sighted. A definite case of misdirected animosity. The guy's a champ and will be responsible for many more Cat victories than losses over the next few years.

Stick with him, Catters.

Geelong missed 2-3 shots late and a lot more early on (has anyone seen a worse kick for goal than Kingsley in the first quarter).

Blaming Ottens is just opportunistic.

and exactly in what situations has it mattered "most" when he was playing for richmond. was it when they were setting the records for consecutive losses?? or when they played hawthorn for the wooden spoon/#1 draft pick?? or when they were 6-2 and then lost another 10+ games in a row ?

anyway for a player who abuses teammates, cant be bothered with defensive efforts, and loses interest in games, I guess you guys are just happy to see him gone. oh wait, no hes not, hes still there!!

you bloody clowns, you got rid of the wrong guy!!

Sorry, it was round 15 2000.

In that year Carey polled 14 browlow votes.
He was captian of the All Australian Team
He was Norths leading goal kicker, was it 69 for the year.
That is a pretty good result for someone who you think is past it.

He also missed from 15 m out on a slight angle to put north in front with 30 seconds to go.

bit harsh on ottens
what about kingsleys shocker in the 1st qtr
made zantucks kick look alright, well not really...........

Ling a few years ago vs Ess?

The worst thing about that Kingsley kick was that there was no Cats player in the square to try and mark it. But then again, when your FF is kicking from 35m straight in front...

So the previous 4 weeks haven't mattered to North.
They have, but really, we played pretty bad as a team in those 4 weeks. Tonight we played well, and we were lead by Thompson who played a great game.
