We have the talent both on and off the field to be one of the great clubs we just need "something" to click. Have faith, it has only been 26 years. So what’s everyone’s thoughts on how the rebuild is going?
Hawks have gone past us…..

King Brothers, Mckay, Thilthorpe, JUH
The trend now is KPFs will be 200cm plus in all teams within the next few years. A small backline is not going to end well.
So how many KPD are 200cm?King Brothers, Mckay, Thilthorpe, JUH

Plenty of water to go under the bridge yet. Whole worrying, only one of the players have conclusively failed.
Easily, we had the picks, we just made extremely poor choices. That superdraft, Sholl is arguably our best player, Jones is just a dumb footballer, McHenry useless and Hamill can’t get a run at it.OP was right. Can’t afford to draft badly into and through a rebuild. We should have another 3 or 4 a graders.
Durdin, Howard, Jones, Frampton, Pearce, Andrew, Andrews, McKay, Reid, Moore, Sam De Koning plays forward & backSo how many KPD are 200cm?
I'm not that pissed off by the Gallucci pick because I could at least understand the traits they were looking for and though it was a bad pick, it's not earth shattering for a team at the top of the ladder to get a dud. In a sense that's the system working as intended.OP was right. Can’t afford to draft badly into and through a rebuild. We should have another 3 or 4 a graders.
And this years draft/period feels like a fork in the road. They’ll burn draft capital for mediocre trades attempting to wall paper over the cracks, when we really need a cleanout and recruitment of elite talent throughout the entire the club. We’re 4-1-7
That’s not where you want to be 5 years in. With massive questions over the list and holes to be filled
The rebuild turned left
I dont think our list is that bad - or I dont know how bad our list is
We expect the draftees to be perfect before we play them for 1 or 2 games
Thats not development thats stifling
How many players '' have gone backward since we drafted them '' how many times do we read that
Its not the players fault entirely
How Nicks and co continually blame the players and get away with it is crazy. Good coaches take on board that the players are not playing their game plan - but we continue the plan and blame the players but dont drop the players
Nicks has 2 months to blow the culture up but I fear its too late
I hate Cy Walsh
So not that many and a few of those aren't even AFL quality players let alone AFL quality KPD. Most KPD are 195cm so I don't see any issue with our backline being "short".Durdin, Howard, Jones, Frampton, Pearce, Andrew, Andrews, McKay, Reid, Moore, Sam De Koning plays forward & back
Not unless we get more quality midsThe list is in a reasonable position to start to contend by 2026/27. We just need the right person in charge.
If we're still built entirely around Tex, with Crouch & Laird the centrepiece of the midfield, with ROB, Keays, Smith, Murphy in the leadership group, and a first round mid like Pedlar has not been given a single game in the midfield in four years... was it even a rebuild?
Or did we just not win many games for a while?
Disagree, I think the next senior coach has something to work with given the extent of the rebuild Nicks had to do during a global pandemic. He can actually coached, the problem is he has proven to be very stubborn in his thinking and hasn't changed, hence he continue to make the same obvious mistake over and over again so there's no way he will change in his thinking.
I think they are great, but we have a short backline for an AFL team. Nicks and the list managements fault.
It is when a forward line is getting up to 200cm per tall forward.
Isn't that meant to be Smith's weapon and why he is in the side instead of Hamill lol.Lack of height in our backline is not our problem. Speed across the deck is the problem when we concede fast ball movement between the arcs.
