I got knocked out in round 11 by a guy who had Dal Santo captain, a plethora of Saints and a number of other things that really annoyed me. Good to see the team is ranked in the 800s though.

The only irrelevant reason I am even able to discuss it again (having avoided the threads like the plague since I was knocked out) is I scored higher than every team still in it this week. Matters not one bit.

Anyway the purpose of this thread is to see whether the eliminator actually affected, and continues to affect, people's trading strategies, particularly those who take their league seriously, or are in the hunt for the Aurion.

I was knocked out early so it had no real affect, but I would think there is a fine balancing act - easy game in the league, tough in the eliminator, do you trade?

Not such an issue in the chase for the overall prize...or is it?

Does anyone feel they would have more trades left if it wasn't for the eliminator?

Finally would we all be glad to see it back in 09?

I definately think I would have a few more trades left if it were not for the eliminator.

I traded early to avoid zeros, (something I haven't done in the past) and that is coming back to bite me now. I only have 4 trades left, and have been putting off trades for a few weeks now in an attempt to keep those few trades in hand for the finals. Still carrying Chad and D.Myers, was hoping to upgrade Palmer as well. With Chapman, Pavlich and Cox in my side too, I am going to need a bit of selection luck over the next few rounds if I am going to win it (my league that is).

I still think the eliminator is a good idea, but I for one will not be paying any attention to it next year. I guess it comes down to what your goals are in DT. For me it is all about the league, I don't think I am a realistic chance at winning any of the major prizes, so I won't be letting myself get distracted by eliminator next year.

Hate to state the obvious, but eliminator requires HEAPS of luck and hence don't think it is worth the while trading for eliminator. It only takes a bad round from you or a good round from your opponent and its goodnight. I guess if i happen to win my next 2 eliminator matches (and make it into the final 8), then my focus will go to eliminator. But for now its the league win. Too far behind for the car (Rank 50 something).

i was eliminated last week and if it wasn't for the eliminator I would still have some trades for finals....any way i made the decision to stay in as long as possible cos i had no chance winning overall.

Still in eliminator and yes i did use trades just to stay in it, wish i had a few more left. My leauge is so easy i didn't care about it to start with. Made an ordinary start to the year so was effectively out of the runnin for the car before eliminator started so concentrated all my effort on eliminator. Happy to have made it this far but will not go much further.

Yes i want it back next year, it gave me something to play for this year, but if i was in with a shot at number 1 would not even think twice about the eliminator.
