Sims and Gardener still weeks away from coming back ,Gardener still on crutches. anyone know......One synical chap tried to tell me they werent playing because they werent getting paid ????

I heard last week that Sims will be out for 3-4, because his ankle's still not right.

Cheers mate, good to get some positive feedback already. We'll be carrying through with the new format into the finals, so we'll be getting a decent report in for every game from now on. And no, it wasn't just because slim had a whinge, although it probably helped to get us thinking...:thumbsu:

Yeah Good job Nonch , credit were credits due but im sure Wilson wouldnt have been the brains behind it. I noticed he kicked 5 and didnt get a mention in the best last week must have all been cheapies.

He was fuming too... Was going to sneak him in there but didn't want to start a scandal:D

You better hope Bonnie Doon don't make it into the league, they have better facilities than Benalla.....lol

Actually, Wang to Whor v's Wang to Benalla is only 5-10 minutes diff. And there is no 3rd world change room facilities at Benalla
I understand your point here slim but I think Whorouly is a bit more central for opposition teams. Think of Bright, probably the best facilities in the league but they wil never get a final, they are just to far away.

Facilities should surely come into it though Plizer...have heard from a few opposition teams that the "away" rooms & shower facilities at Whorouly are deplorable! They have all had to go home after games without showers as there was no hot water! That is very bad!
What about finals at Moyhu or Milawa then? They have great facilities for both sides!
So is it Saturday's (except for grand final) at Tarra and then Whorouly/Nth Wang on Sundays or other way round due to golf situation still?

That is not the case at all rumble new hot water system installed at start of year.

The only difference between Whorouly and Benalla, is that if the finals were played in Benalla, people would be subjected to having to go there more than the one away game that they have to, therefore risking having their cars broken into and being abused from the locals on the sidelines. Keep the finals at Tarra / Wang they are the best grounds for sure, Milawa is a bumpy goat track, North Wang is not too bad and pretty central. Agree with the Chronicle, keep up the good work.

New hot water system might have been installed JB, but certainly wasn't working the day Moyhu played there. I saw quite a few players leaving unshowered as there was no hot water & the one shower working was only trickling cold water at the most! I had to take 2 players back into Wangaratta to have showers as it wasn't working!

Who do you all think is shaping up as the Baker Medalist favorite at this stage of the season.

I think that Jono Rea would be a good chance as he has been in KV's best nearly if not every game. Only problem is if they have won enough games.

I know we all go on about the Baker Medal and senior football, but does anyone have thoughts on who will win or go well in Reserves & Thirds?
We all go on about the senior footy but I have a nephew who plays 2nds football & to him it is enjoyable & he loves it, however just thought would see who all think from there clubs will go well...

That's a good question mate. I'm not sure about other clubs, but at Tarra this year we have been continually bringing our best seconds boys up - significantly more than last year due to senior injuries/availabilities. Blokes like Jake Dell'Oro, Luke Dinsdale, Daz Johnstone, Dan Hargreaves, Ben Griffin and Nick Norris etc were all consistent in the twos games they played.

In the thirds, Lachie Reynolds and Sam Rosenow have been good all year but I'd say Chris Mangubat will attract the most votes.

From Greta, Josh Vonarx has been a stand out. He is flashy, puts his head over the ball at the stoppages and more often than not comes out the other side of the pack. Played a couple of senior games, so that could hurt his chances. Matt Saunders has been holding down CHB in his first year of football. Will do well in the club B&F, but may not poll well in the league votes. Guns Pople has to be up there as well, although his chances would've been hurt by playing senior football.
Thirds would contain Zac Cleeland (running midfielder/winger who kicks goals), Craig Graham and Chris Sherratt. All three are in the best nearly every week.

Probably poll enough snr votes in his couple of games to take out the snr b&f........
That Cleeland will develop into a bloody good footballer, not that he isn't already.

He sure is! I havent seen an engine on a kid like his ever. Played a game in the seniors a couple of weeks ago and definately didnt look out of place.

Mario Anania from moyhu seconds has had a great two years and has finally been rewarded with a senior game this weekend against tara...he should go well mature head on his shoulders...should go well in club b + f but lack of wins hurts him for league

The visitor showers today were to a higher then usual standard -

Senior game against Tarra..probably isn't something someone would like to be "rewarded" with  . I didn't see the game so didn't see how he went, but wouldn't think it would have been easy against Tarra.
Sounds like it was an interesting game and by all reports Moyhu tested Tarra in some areas...

Came on either late in the third or early in the last and drew plenty of cheers from the Hoppers' fans. Don't recall whether or not he got a touch, but Tarra was fairly well on top by then.

Got a few young blokes out at Greta that are impressing. Steve Brooks and Paul Fruzynski have been regulars in the senior line up. Shane Graham has been stringing some good games together and a couple of the thirds (Cleeland, Craig Graham and Simon Rempel) have been given a chance to impress.

"Cult following" nonch? :D I wouldn't envy anyone playing against Tarra. Yes heard Bulldogs got on top everntually but was tight contest for the most part. Good to hear someone tested Tarra thou...
