We'll just have to wait and start seeing results I guess. Players are still crossing over. The only reason I didn't have Greta in there because they have a nightmare of a draw.

In order Mine...

Tarrawingee
North Wang
Milawa
Glenrowan
Moyhu
King Valley
Greta
Whorouly

Its All good fun !!!

Tarrawingee
Milawa

Moyhu
Whorouly
King Valley
Greta
Bright

On glenrowan! Time will tell how they fare this year! I've never seen so many clearances for one team! I have two theory's!
Nigel Robinson will be the best first year coach in history and must be one of the best sales people going around to get so many players over the line.
Or there is some serious coin been thrown around and the offers are too good to refuse!
I don't mind clubs spending money! No point it just sitting in the bank! But can that spending be sustained over a period of time?

Such a valid point Get it Forward. Is it worth spending all your money in one foul swoop, or is it better to maintain some of those funds in case they are needed for the continued future of a club???
I would hate to see a club spend up all its money now and then in 5 years time have nothing. I am of the opinion (and this is just mine) that a certain percentage of club funds should be spend on club infrastructure and ensuring that you have financial stability before you go blow it all in one year on players! Players should play for each other - not for the money!
I am not sure of the Glenrowan situation so i will not comment on it, but you do raise some more valid points on the coach! I've coached elsewhere in the past and understand how difficult it is to get a handful of players to commit to playing, let alone the number Glenrowan has attracted.
Everyone has that goal of winning that elusive premiership, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, is it worth winning it in one year and then 4 or 5 years down the track not having a club??

a lot of recruits but is it a huge coup of talented players?(Do your homework boys looks like a big bag of spuds).
But tigers wont be belted by 300pts each week

Not sure why there is all this talk about the ex B&D clubs being uncompetitive. Bonnie Doon has played finals in two of its three seasons and came close to making the GF in 2010 with a good showing against a determined Tarra in the Prelim. Admittedly we were poor last year due to some major players leaving and some big injuries but we still touched up a few traditional O&K sides.

In the hunt for the 8 again I would imagine.
With the top 8 from last year all either about where they were last year or better and Glenrowan on the improve its going to be a significant improvement if you are going to make the eight , some big names leaving so there must be some gun recruits in the pipe line then.

So you think Glenrowan will make up a 25 goal differential on us and then some? Who did they recruit? Garry Ablett?

Just saw on Clearances A. Walsh back to Moyhu after the cash grab to Tatong, that will hurt Tatong. Where will they play Fraser Dent this year ???

I reckon Glenrowan will be competitive, is everyone forgetting where Nth Wang were the previous year ??? They were getting smashed, recruited well and Premiership. Nigel Robinson is a far better player than anyone at Nth Wang has got, he will win the baker medal by a mile.

I reckon if they dont they will get bloody close , we can see who they have recruited just i was just wonderng how your recruiting was going that all !

From memory Robinson was runner-up in the Baker Medal when playing for KV back in 2006 & he was only a pup then.

We have lost a few and gained a few. At this stage I think we have lost more quality than we have gained. I'm not having a go at Glenrowan, good luck to any club that can get some big recruits and shoot up the ladder. I do however have an issue with people just grouping the ex B&D clubs together as uncompetitive when Bonnie Doon have been and there are original O&K clubs that have been worse. I may be wrong and haven't looked at last years results but I would imagine Bonnie Doon, Goorambat, Tatong and possibly even Swanpool all belted Glenrowan. Yes Glenrowan will improve out of sight this year as Nth Wang (another O&K club who were terrible) did last year, maybe in 2014 it will be Tatong or Goorambat.

B&D clubs have been grouped as uncompetitive
In the 3 seasons since B&D came in there has always been an O&K club lower than a B&D club
Bonnie Doon have finished higher than Bright, Greta, Nth Wang, Glenrowan and King Valley at least once.

Oh and Bonnie Doon will be the Bombers this year not the Dogs.

Gabe O'Brien to milawa? Big move
Fairly potent forward line!

I see dunne's clearance has been denied twice, doon playing hard ball!

Has O'brien played much footy in the last couple of years. Didn'tr he have a bad shoulder injury a couple of years ago...

Given Dunne didn't play last year I reckon he must still have the No.4 jumper in his bottom draw...

Played twos at the valley last year as he didn't want to train or couldn't train! Yes has had some major injuries over the years!

Good effort to get into that side! Well done to him!

O'Brien to Milawa, fair effort to offer a player who played 2's $500.00 a game. Be interesting to see if his 'injuries' he was always complaining about being his reason for not playing ones for the valley, disappear when a pay check is involved. Goes to show loyalty to your team mates means nothing these days. Good luck to Milawa though good get, should be potent this year he was a very good player when he was up and running.

Due to a cancelation of our praccy match this weekend, Violet Town is looking for a 6 quarter hit out this Sat or Sun, this would have to be at your ground as ours is taken up with cricket finals. I know it is short notice but if interested please PM me and we will see what we can work out. Cheers

Has anyone watched any practice games yet for any team, how are the teams looking considering now there is 2 weeks to got to the season?
